I have been working at Ciber full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I liked the people and enjoyed a decent work-life balance. I enjoyed many projects. Exposure to diverse technology ensured opportunity for a lot of skills. Ciber doesn't hide what it is - it's a cold, hard consulting company. It's up to you to maintain employment. They don't pretend to care - no training, no guarantees, no career path...that's on you. But they don't hide that fact either...you have to know what you're getting. It's a good and bad thing I suppose.

    Cons

Always a concern that you would be on the bench or no follow-up project. The latest concern is that upper management doesn't know what the hell its doing: lacking focus on sales, debt out the wazoo (Wells Fargo), and arrogantly chasing ridiculous initiatives like a modernization product to end all products (Momentum). Upper management has arrogantly pursued ridiculous initiatives that are not panning out - and too foolish to pull out and cut their losses.

    Advice to Management

Stop driving the company into the ground. The CEO has single-handedly destroyed a company that practically ran itself. It might be too late now that Ciber needs to sell off activity in Europe and abroad to satisfy their outrageous debt. Sell Ciber to a competitor already - you are driving it into the ground like it's on purpose. The stock currently sits around 33 cents a share. It's a shadow of it's former self.

I have been working at Ciber full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some brand equity still remaining, so external perception of the firm tends to be favorable.

    Cons

Business development teams left after selling bad contracts thats bled-out the cash flow when Delivery tried to make them work for clients. Upward mobility is very limited and crony driven (not based on merit).

    Advice to Management

Sell company to highest bidder and reset.

I worked at Ciber full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Long term assignments, good clients - depending on locations, good pay rates and benefits.

    Cons

Typical consulting (staffing) company with no bench period - they will not mention this when you're hired, so don't think that they'll keep you if your project ends. There is lack of coordination between managers and employees, if there are issues at client site company does not care about employees at all. Managers pretend to be caring but are never aware of anything, company lacks good managers,

    Advice to Management

Start caring about your employees and change your policies so that you retain not just clients but also good employees.

I worked at Ciber full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you are lucky one may get a good talented team.
Some recruiters are actually very nice.

    Cons

Sales and business development talent is dismal. Essentially when it acquired number of smaller consulting units years ago to call themselves CIBER the recruiters from acquired companies named themselves client partners and business development managers... and so you can expect what happened from there on.

Biggest issue has been grossly ineffective and vision less executive. Mid level management runs with small groups essentially protecting each other... can not get out of their own way!

Real talent gets frustrated and leaves.

    Advice to Management

It is sad to see what is happening.

I have been working at Ciber full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Met some great people on different projects.

    Cons

No raises, bonuses are suppose to be part of your compensation, but once the executives take their piece there is little to nothing left for anyone else.
European businesses and exchange rates are bringing us losses every quarter.
Very little if any communication to employees.
    Paychecks have been delayed.
Can not count on expenses being reimbursed in a timely manner. Still haven't heard when we will get the deposit for expenses that show a paid date of Feb 1, 2017.

    Advice to Management

Advice to Board of Directors. Sell Europe and replace the executives.

I worked at Ciber (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The best thing about working at Ciber are the wonderful, caring rank and file employees. They are smart, dedicated and hopeful for change in leadership.

    Cons

As a former 16 year employee working in the corporate office, it has been shocking to witness the incompetent and dishonest board of directors including the ceo.

    Advice to Management

Turn over the board, including the CEO. I've never met such a greedy, incompetent and dishonest bunch of fools.

I worked at Ciber full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Large organization with work. Access to materials.

    Cons

Heard from all, they promise most recruits a balance of remote and travel, until you start a project, then even written promises are void.
Forced to follow ridiculous time consuming (billable) "Ciber way" sessions with Clients.

    Advice to Management

    Discourage backstabbing
    Better training
    Keep your word

    Pros

Ford Holidays...you follow the shut down schedule

    Cons

Ford Holidays - you have to use your PTO so the only time you can really schedule time off is during shut down.
Training is inconsistent as are the policies

    Advice to Management

Too many cooks in the kitchen. Nothing is consistent. Policies are not made clear. No room for growth
