I have been working at Ciber full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexibility, work life balance, overall freedom to do you job

    Cons

No annual increases due to poor C level management, gross incompetence and exorbitant exec compensation

    Advice to Management

Don't borrow money you can't pay back. Lessons learned- don't run a 43 year company into bankruptcy and foreign ownership

I have been working at Ciber (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits and options to work from home.
good bonuses(if there is any work to be had).
    good people. relaxed atmosphere

    Cons

Ciber is in major trouble Financially, Ciber is in the news for all the wrong reasons. Debt to Wells Fargo and the CEO is making a comfy $30+ Million. Ciber is trying to sell off all European branches and businesses to try and pay off the debt. no clear direction and management at most levels seems to have no idea hat is going on. They try and calm you with the 'this news doesnt affect out business practice, it is other departments', but the whole company is in trouble. they are laying off people left and right to try and salvage any salary for the CEO and board. that D-day is coming when Wells decides not to push their deadline back any further,

    Advice to Management

It is really to the point of no return for Ciber, unfortunate for the little people. BIG CEOs are good making all their money and tanking the company.

    Pros

Bank holidays off, the last day of the month the company buys you lunch, but you also will be working through lunch. Also a year end bonus.

    Cons

Very competitive environment, everyone covers their butt and will not hesitate to throw you under the bus to do it. One co worker even purposely hid a file with a mistake I had made so that when it was discovered, it would be an enormous problem. The worst thing is, it was actually her job to double check that everything was completed on the file, so actually she wasn't fulfilling her responsibilities either. She then took my position when I was let go.

    Advice to Management

Create a more cohesive work environment in which everyone feels they are on the same team instead of creating competition.

    Pros

Unlimited PTO and their attorneys are good for visa / gc process

    Cons

Poor medical insurance and pay is very low as they have a lot of internal managers and the overhead cost cut reflects on our salary

I worked at Ciber full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the people were incredible to work with, others... eh.

    Cons

After the leadership change this company drifted badly and continues to struggle, losing ground.

    Advice to Management

Dump the CEO (again) go back to what you did successfully.

I have been working at Ciber full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of travel, people, food, etc.

    Cons

Lots of work, stress, lack of methodologies, camaraderie, and good ole' teamwork.

    Advice to Management

Go back to the basics. If you want to configure software for clients, consult. Hire consultants that will listen and consult. Add that to your hiring checklist. If they cannot tell you in the interview what it means to consult, RUN!

I have been working at Ciber (More than a year)

    Pros

The company offer good benefits and ok compensation (depending on the position).

    Cons

On-line training only through company website, they will not pay for any training courses, webinars, or conferences unless it's required for your position, career development is non-existent. They say your hours are flexible and you can work from home but if they don't see you in the office between 9am and 3pm they assume you have left for the day. Once offered a position you only get 24-48 hours to accept it. Organization structure is always changing and pay increases are non-existent, they will tell you that they will put in for one and you never hear back from them.

    Advice to Management

The people who conduct the interviews could be more honest about training and career growth.

I worked at Ciber full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

CIBER was flexible and had a good workplace environment. I enjoyed my first few years there.

    Cons

Once new leadership was installed it, business stalled and morale plummeted. Lots of process for process sake. The 1.1B company is now about 700m and dropping. The Boston office which was around 28m in its heyday is now gone and has a few remote managers and a few accounts.

    Advice to Management

Decide who you want to be and perhaps listen to the people who helped you get there. Stop playing musical chairs with worthless leaders.
