I worked at Ciber full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good company with traditional work environment.
Being a software consultant I was always focused on client delivery and there was no unrealistic expectations on contributing to the practice beyond ones abilities.

    Cons

Very client focused so not much goes towards personal development.
Benefits and bonus packages are not that good and never expect even half of the promised bonus...
No one listens to you if you say this is the trend right now!

    Advice to Management

Need to go and grow with the current market requirements rather than trying to sell what you have!

I worked at Ciber full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Growing staffing company that has some corporate project teams and that produces some products the provide unique value to the IT world. They're committed to improving from the disjointed company they were in the past to a company that's top tier for both employees and customers. Better than average new hire orientation. They try to make even the contractors they staff at client companies feel part of their organization.

    Cons

They have a ways to go. You can still be lost in the big company. If the contract ends and there's no other obvious placement, there's also no bench to put you on.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the integration/improvement effort to make the organization one integrated company that all employees can feel a valuable part of. Put focus and staff on the Momentum project before it loses its momentum due to long waiting lists for information and implementation.

I have been working at Ciber full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good company with realistic goals and expectations for sales teams. Salary is decent, due to being a Tier 2 IT consultancy. Big enough to deliver and small enough to support your needs.

    Cons

Too many challenges at the leadership level. We have a revolving door of execs( 3 CEOs in 5 years) with big titles from big companies and have yet to deliver any real tangible results (revenue growth). Company is becoming top heavy. More VPs and execs then ever before and yet revenue not growing. Vast majority of managers, directors and above focused on reporting not selling or growth.

    Advice to Management

Put your money where your mouth is. Give yourself a true performance based pay structure like the sales force (50/50). Lay out a plan, communicate the plan and goals, and celebrate when you achieve goals and take ownership when you don't. Also, align and incentivize everyone on the same goals.
