I have been working at Cielo (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Free coffee and a convenient location that's safe. Updated maternity leave but still lacking. Paid most of the bonus this year which is better than the last couple years.

    Cons

Over worked and not fairly paid unless you're in the "yes" club. Pay is not what it should be compared to similar roles in smaller firms. Never speak your mind or you'll get black listed and/or fired. They say they care but what really have you done? Free fruit doesn't pay my bills. Free booze at all hands events doesn't pay my bills. Pet insurance doesn't pay my bills (lol). How about you make investments in your staff with sizable merit increases to reward us for all the BS we have to deal with due to poor planning and management? Why am I covering 4 teams cuz you don't have the staff because you either over fired staff or they finally saw the greener grass and quit. You're over working so many of your top performers that soon we'll have had enough and leave on our terms.

    Advice to Management

Just because you won an award doesn't make it true or factual. Why would we answer your employee surveys with what we really think if we feel you're tracking them... Invest in your employees with merit increases that make a difference not 1-2% pity raises doesn't beat inflation!! You keep losing people for the same reasons but do nothing to fix all the blatantly obvious issues with management. Moving people around doesn't make them all of a sudden good at the job you stuck them in now (Bridge/IC). If they weren't cut out for position A for obvious reasons why would you think position B would be any different (lipstick on a pig). Don't bother replying back as most people reading this know it's your "we care" BS response that if you did get someone to call you, you would continue doing nothing to address. Similar type reviews over and over and over says you don't give a darn or are too afraid to address. Oh and when you have your "paid" positive reviewers post on here, have them take out the bullet points as it makes the reviews look super fake. The ship has a hole and nobody cares.

I worked at Cielo full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

In hindsight, it's a great place to be if you are apathetic. If you can stay clinical and detached that is to your benefit. Co-workers who keep you sane.

    Cons

The January purge. Every January there are layoffs and then one is left scrambling in March when you need to desperately re-hire recruiters or support staff that were laid off. Instead of looking at the trends to see that it is a yearly occurrence, it's the typical knee jerk, fix it now and deal with it later reaction. This then causes the mid level managers and recruitment teams to be grossly understaffed when March rolls around. Every. Year. When this occurs, all of the associated issues of being understaffed come around like clock work. Many already addressed on this site.

That being said, you may review the previous cons addressed. I'll not be repetitive but read them knowing that most are 100% accurate. Be wary of the really good reviews on this site. Just beware. Know what you are getting into and do not think you will be the exception. Loyalty and dedication are not rewarded. Do not sacrifice time with your family to service a client and company that will drop you without hesitation. Just don't do it.

    Advice to Management

Please do not leave a canned rebuttal. There is nothing to refute and I'm sure your thanking me for taking the time to write a review fools no one. Some people have carved a fantastic niche for themselves and successfully managed to point the finger elsewhere when their accounts have gone south. I'm sure they see how others are treated and are 1. scared that this will happen to them so they had best drink the koolaid or 2. Are so delusional in thinking that treating people horribly is somehow justified. You purge in January - after making a tidy profit the previous year - so that you don't have to pay out bonuses to those laid off. Kuddos.

I have been working at Cielo full-time

    Pros

Cielo is not a company for everyone. It is fast paced, a bit competitive and is ever changing. Individuals who are driven, client focused and proactive problem solvers are people who excel here. You are provided a vast amount of information, tools and autonomy to really carve out your own career path. You work with really smart people and you are always learning.

    Cons

All the things that make the pro list are also cons to some people. The pace can be tough and constant change is challenging.

    Advice to Management

Continue to keep the communication open and transparent.

    Pros

Great place to get your foot in the door.

    Cons

I worked at Cielo for just over 2 years. At first it was so great, but then you realize it's all about who you know there. There are empty promises of room for growth. I didn't feel appreciated and was very much overworked. I worked on a high volume team and it was a constant push to overwork yourself. At the time I didn't mind my job however now that I work at a different company I realize there is so much better out there.

I worked at Cielo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

*For those who genuinely want to be successful there will be a path for you at Cielo.
*You will learn industry leading skills/knowledge from some of the best minds in Talent Acquisition.
*Great people at all levels of the organization.
*Excellent flexibility that allowed for optimizing work/life balance.
*Inclusive and open to letting people be who they are.

    Cons

*Not really a con, but something I think people should understand - The internal atmosphere is competitive and that isn't for everyone. You are given the tools to be successful and go after your goals, but if you don't put the work in others will beat you to it.

    Advice to Management

I have had very good experiences with management, but I still do think there is a gap between Senior Leaders and the front-line workers in some key areas. Efforts are being made to close that gap, which is great, but I'd suggest they keep working at it in 2019.

    Pros

    - opportunity work for a market leader; great brand on your resume
    - smartest team mates in the industry
    - opportunity to have your opinion heard
    - challenging, changing work with lots of opportunities to advance
    - global company, chance to work with people around the world
    - casual work environment

    Cons

    - fast-paced and results-driven environment means high expectations
    - sometimes have outgrown "small company" practices and need to invest forward
    - Brookfield bathrooms could use some help :)

    Advice to Management

Continue to provide opportunities for people to advance, but take the time to highlight them more so everyone knows what's available. Find ways to collaborate with teammates outside of the office. Keep up the focus on people with the All Hands and the Fresh Fruit Wednesdays... those things matter to keep us connected!
