I worked at Cincinnati Bell full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Getting laid off was the best thing that ever happened to me.

    Cons

Leadership has no clue how anything works. There their expectations are woefully out of proportion.

The tools given to do your job are 10 years out of date. If not more. The ordering system is a 1970s DOS based, for example.

The data analytics team is a joke. No one's numbers ever match. So you spend half your time just trying to get an accurate sub count, etc.

Unbelievably shady business practices. If only you knew.

Soulless people that will stab your back in a second.

No forward thinking at all. Every quarter is about milking THIS quarter for all it's worth.

The CEO is a foul mouthed buffoon. Every other word is the 'f' word.

It's all about who's fault it was. Never about solving a problem.

They will take everything from you and give nothing back.

    Advice to Management

Ask yourself if this is who you want to be.

    Pros

Coworker's were good people. Enjoyed learning from some of the senior reps.

    Cons

Goals were unattainable and the potential commission was greatly misrepresented. Outbound sales is a dying thing, most don't answer the phone, and those that do are typically in early stages of dementia.

    Advice to Management

More realistic goals & stop misrepresenting the average commission. The hours are impossible, add to that the stress of people not even answering their phones and you end up with a losing team.

I have been working at Cincinnati Bell full-time

    Pros

I have a great boss who cares about what I'm interested in working on and helps me pursue opportunities for growth.

    Cons

Very, very inconsistent workload. My manager doesn't seem to know what my job actually is and therefore gives me tasks she just doesn't want to do herself - things a secretary could do. The work environment is hostile to women, as well as racial and sexual minorities. I hear racial and sexual slurs on a weekly basis. I reported an instance of sexual harassment to HR several months ago, and while the experience with the HR rep was very positive, nothing ever happened to the two offenders (other than a slap on the wrist). Even among the few female employees I've talked to, there's a general resignation that "boys will be boys" and that eventually I'll get used to it.

    Advice to Management

Show some respect to your employees - not just the middle aged white men you so conveniently keep promoting to upper management.

I worked at Cincinnati Bell full-time

    Pros

There is nothing positive about this company, it is a very stressful environment and management does not give two hoots about the hostile environment.

    Cons

This is a horrible place for people of color to work.

    Advice to Management

Stop promoting based on race, you have lost some valuable people as the result of your bigotry.

    Pros

Can make up to $100K a year with 50-60 work hours a week.

    Cons

Expected to work 6 days a week. Company will call for meetings with less than 24 hour notice. Management are all comparable to used car salesmen.

    Advice to Management

Keep promises you make to employees.

I have been working at Cincinnati Bell full-time

    Pros

Downtown location is the only pro

    Cons

    -Nepotism is rampant
    -Pay increases are not consistent
    -Management is weak and unorganized
-There is a serious lack of communication
    -Limited opportunity for career advancement
-Management is very top heavy, too many Director's and VP's for a company of its size

    Advice to Management

Stop promoting people just because they have seniority, don't be afraid to eliminate non performers no matter how ling they have been here, if you talk about change actually follow through on it, hire people because they are qualified not because they share the same last name with an executive. For a company who is billions in debt and has a lot of competition (Google fiber, Time Warner, Direct TV) stop wasting money on useless things like new cubicles and a severely top heavy management team.

    -very "old boys club" feel
    -untrustworthy management
    -no accountability
-no processes/procedures. the ones that are in place are not followed

    Advice to Management
