I have been working at Cincinnati Bell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fun atmosphere, new location, ticket perks, happy hours, ping pong table, great co-workers, meeting with customers to discuss needs, developing solutions. Great experience in technology, solution selling, and customer relationships.

    Cons

Two individuals on the executive team will make or break your career and have large egos. Good ole' boys club. One particular Director leads with fear and intimidation. Unfortunately, they rule all of the sales department and have a large pull in the decisions of other departments. I went from loving my job and career potential, to hating it. Lots of good people in the company, but a few controlling ones ruin it for many individuals. Stress is also very high as outside sales goals are extremely high and get higher every year. However, a few individuals will get a few lucky breaks during the year to hit their numbers. Systems are extremely old and inefficient. Lots of wrong information.

    Advice to Management

Do what is right for your employee, not only what will benefit yourself.

I have been working at Cincinnati Bell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Management is awesome they do everything they can to help you achieve your goals, no micro management, very nice updated work environment

    Cons

They change your shifts and will give you a two day notice to tell you so. Every now and then they will make you work mandatory Saturday's. Constant changes nothing stays the same. The better you do the less you get. They don't value and appreciate employees. The retention department plays a very important role in company and brung in millions of dollars in revenue last year and they did nothing but thank us and cut our commission!

    Advice to Management

Show more appreciation to the ones who work extremely hard to help your company grow.

I worked at Cincinnati Bell part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Technology can be very interesting. Downtown location is central. Pay was above average. Very invested in the community. Benefits were decent.

    Cons

Much more concern about CYA than moving the company forward. Way too many grudges held between departments and individuals. Technology available for employee use is very outdated and inefficient.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Coworker's were good people. Enjoyed learning from some of the senior reps.

    Cons

Goals were unattainable and the potential commission was greatly misrepresented. Outbound sales is a dying thing, most don't answer the phone, and those that do are typically in early stages of dementia.

    Advice to Management

More realistic goals & stop misrepresenting the average commission. The hours are impossible, add to that the stress of people not even answering their phones and you end up with a losing team.

I have been working at Cincinnati Bell full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people that work in the business department are excellent for the most part. There is flexibility in the day to day. Upper management is trying to make the culture more modern.

    Cons

Advancement is limited to people in the "in crowd" and not based on merit. The systems they use for supporting their products are so old and hard to work with it makes it difficult to support the more modern products they sell.

    Advice to Management

Have a better career path for employees, and make it easier for them to get experience in other departments.
