    Pros

As a Field Rep. I am in charge of everything I do in my area. I love that autonomy and the ability to make decisions quickly and in the best interest of my Agents as well as my company. Cincinnati trusts me - that is huge. Cincinnati backs me up when things get weird. My underwriters support my decisions and I support theirs. It has a big family feel to it.

    Cons

Funding for sponsorship in the field is a bit limited. That can be good and that can be bad. It can be good because it keeps expenses and overhead to a minimum and that helps the stock price and performance of the company. It can be bad in that it becomes a bit more difficult to get the companies name out there in my local market.

    Advice to Management

Perhaps have money for marketing set aside per year per field rep. I'm not talking ten's of thousands of dollars but something under 10k would work.

I have been working at Cincinnati Insurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Upper management is interested in every aspect of your job, Company model is unmatchable, amazing benefits and stock options, upward mobility, great training. If they hire you, take it!

    Cons

Tough to learn in the field if you are inexperienced due to the model. But management is patient and understands that.

    Advice to Management

None! Keep doing what you are doing.

I have been working at Cincinnati Insurance full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    work from home, company car

    Cons

case load is too heavy to work within an 8 hour shift. software system is antiquated, must do all clerical entries, mailings, having to upload DECS and endorsements manually into the file, and claim handling. Low pay and benefits are not competitive.

    Advice to Management

Use a new system, have the dec page and endorsements already loaded inside the claim. Get Xactimate instead of Symbility which is awful.

    Pros

Work from home and Ford Focus company car(whoo hooo!)

    Cons

Pay well below industry average, bean counter executives only care about stock price, overworking staff to increase the bottom line and making huge bonuses for themselves

    Advice to Management

Go back to what made the company great, care for your employees, pay them fairly, and listen to them.

I worked at Cincinnati Insurance (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good location, beats a blank.

    Cons

Not the company it used to be. Zone manager has flings with subordinates 1/2 their age, everyone else is ignored, no advancement, treated with indifference, no longer value experienced UW's, perceived as too much expense, turnover not addressed, can't keep staff, more workload, no raise, new titles worst idea ever, lock good employees into no raise for the rest of their career. Upper mgmt. has no clue, HR could care less. Very sad - very bad state of affairs.

    Advice to Management

Favoritism, nepotism, affairs, needs to stop, you have some very good experienced commercial lines UW who are picked apart, overworked while the Zone manager is off having his flings. If you're losing people at a record pace, there's a reason. Take of the blinders and start making changes to show some real appreciation. Everyone's fed up (except the chosen few) who fail to earn it the right way.
