I have been working at Cincom full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with/for, low stress, tuition reimbursement, and stable. Great flexibility to work from home if need be.

    Cons

Low pay. No extras. No 401K match, OK insurance plans, no raises, no cost of living adjustments, somewhat behind the curve technically. A general feeling of "let's get this done so we can sell it".

    Pros

Positive Environment, positive history, a lot of in-house knowlage

    Cons

Company is in (and has been) in major decline. Lots of Kool-Aid drinking going on.

    I worked at Cincom full-time

    Pros

Great family atmosphere with nothing to do and paid well

    Cons

boring as hell, due to lack of sales, the company is a TV soap opera, nepotism, old boy and people who are still living in the 70/80.

    Advice to Management

Close the doors and live off your residuals, there are very few managers, just people wearing the title.

    Pros

The people are genuine and helpful. There is flexability in hours and allowance for personal time when needed. Employees have lots of experience.

    Cons

Raises have been non existent for several years. The stress on employees has increased and the fun of working there has significantly diminished. there is great concern regarding the future of the company.

    Advice to Management

Leadership needs to communicate what's happening currently, where we're going in the future, how we're going to get there and what role each employee is going to play.

    Pros

Absolutely wonderful people, very solid work/life balance. The company as a while works very hard to treat their people right on the personal level. The mid and low level management is very capable and works well to resolve issues at their level. The bonus structure is very appealing and works well if the company is performing well.

    Cons

Slow sales and a mildly stagnant software product that is allowing the competition to quickly overwhelm the company is leading to a very tense atmosphere due to the tight financial situation. Medical benefits could stand to be completely reworked.

I have been working at Cincom full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Co-workers are really nice to work with. Very easy going. Senior management lets you do your work without micro-managing.

    Cons

Stuck in the past. Does not give any extras. Christmas email is one stating that company will not reimburse managers for taking employees out for lunch. Employees must purchase there own monitor, keyboard and coffee.

    Advice to Management

Learn the technology you are selling, using, and that your employees use. Learn about good engineering techniques.

    Pros

The people are outstanding. as an employee you're empowered to branch out and take on additional responsibility w/o asking.

    Cons

Raises are non-existent forcing good people to leave. They need to take care of its only real asset - its people. Change is coming from the top but is it change for the sake of change?

    Advice to Management

    give raises.

I worked at Cincom full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

No one really pays attention to what you do if you're sitting at the level above telemarketer, but below any sort of management so you have the opportunity to test and learn skills in nearly any department.
There are wonderful people who really care about you at this company.

    Cons

As everyone has mentioned, the lack of upward mobility and raises, let alone any sort of yearly merit increases is a hard culture to work in. Management is very short-sighted and seemingly hasn't realized that the lack of a new-name sale in years means that they're not hitting the correct mark in the marketplace. Lack of leadership and accountability has led the company to a bad place where it is today. Nepotism runs rampant and most seem to attempt to buoy the bad ideas of senior leadership for fear of further pay cuts or job loss.

    Advice to Management

Decide whether you're there to ride the company into the ground or if you truly want to turn the ship around. If you want to turn the ship around, make hard choices, hire the right people (they most likely cost a little more than you'd like) and actually LISTEN to them.

I have been working at Cincom full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

a few really good folks there, work-life ok.

    Cons

many folks have never worked anywhere else, most have not had a salary increase for over 5 years, no 401k match, very much living in the past, like 1970s past!

    Advice to Management

time to shut the doors for good.
