    Pros

Good work experience. You even learn a lot about running a business in a manager position.

    Cons

You deal with a lot of customers that are jerks and they pay is very low for all the work you do

    Advice to Management

We have to find a way to get the staff to get paid a little bit more

    Pros

Exciting fast paced business with an amazing staff and interesting movies to talk about. For someone that loves movies, Cinemark is the best place to work. The job is full of new experiences and personal growth for employees and adds quality real-world experience to a resume.

    Cons

Most states have exemptions from the bureau of labor and industries to allow them to never pay overtime to their employees (Oregon for example). They electively choose to pay a overtime on 4 holidays for parts of the day and never to pay overtime when working over 40.

    Advice to Management

Please stop giving annual raises to all employees one week prior to the states deadline to raise the cost of minimum wage to avoid paying minimum wage plus raise.

    Pros

The hours are flexible and easy, the money and environment is good, the staff is fun, and you get to see all the movies for free.

    Cons

During the school year they don't schedule you many hours. Maybe 2-3 days tops. (Depending on locality of the Cinemark you are at and the population will depict upon how busy it is during the school year).

    Advice to Management

There are evaluations every 6months with pay raises which are wonderful.

    I worked at Cinemark part-time

    Pros

One of my favorite parts of working at cinemark was my coworkers. Everyone got to know each other and we made work genuinely fun(ny). You get to see movies for free, which is a bonus. It is easy to schedule days off, the hours are great for students because the most busy days are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and nights in general. Just about all of the management was very friendly and understanding, especially when I was just beginning my job there. You also get the opportunity to change your position, if you request it, which is nice. Salary was decent.

    Cons

Customers can be horrifying, not the company's fault. If you work in the box office, expect to stand for up to 9 hours in one day (ouch!). Honestly though, not much can be said as far as cons go...

I have been working at Cinemark full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Free movie and flexible schedule. Fast paced and ever changing. Fun people to work with. Team environment. Vegas every year to meet and mingle with fellow general Managers and corporate execs.

    Cons

Have to work on holidays. Other than that standard job downfalls. I was very surprised to see some of the cons in other reviews.

    Advice to Management

Do more contest and incentives for all levels.

I have been working at Cinemark full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Laid-back management
    Lots of down time
    Cool coworkers
    Free movies
    Free popcorn and soda
    Meet a variety of people

    Cons

    Constant standing
Lots of angry/rude customers (but that's anywhere I guess)
    Work most weekends and holidays
Really busy rushes especially on weekend nights

    Advice to Management

Customers would find it really helpful if there were signs in the main lobby that indicated whether the side concession stands were currently open or not without having to go there and check.

I worked at Cinemark part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They work around your schedule, it's a fun environment. The work isn't difficult. Employees are allowed to see movies for free. It's a good job for a kid in high school.

    Cons

You work a lot of weekends since it's their busy time, you're not given a whole lot of hours so sometimes you need to find another job to make ends meet.

I worked at Cinemark part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good place to work while in school.

    Cons

Weekends and Nights are usually taken from your leisure time.

    Advice to Management

Rotate jobs so it's not so boring. My Theater was small so we would switch on all the different types of jobs that were required on a day-to-day operation for floors staff workers.
