I have been working at Cineworld Cinemas full-time

    Pros

Managers were fair and friendly. The work can be quite social. 2 free tickets a day.

    Cons

Unsurprisingly, no intellectual element. Cleaning, long/unsociable hours. Can be working 15 hours one week, 45 the next.

I worked at Cineworld Cinemas part-time

    Pros

zero hour which was great during uni term time for deadlines and such.
40% discount and unlimited films with a plus one.

    Cons

Bad management and very bad for passing the buck and avoiding staff issues.
The only way to progress is to tongue a member of management. regardless of how hard you work, there is no other way to do it.

    Advice to Management

Deal with issues. Stop being spineless when involved with other managers. Stop allowing people to crawl up human passages, it will cause piles.

I worked at Cineworld Cinemas (More than a year)

    Pros

Free films, 40% off food and ice blasts etc.

    Cons

Management are all trying to manage each others departments and constantly trying to step on each others toes for no reason. There are double standards everywhere. managers shouting at team members to work harder whilst they sit in the office listening to music and eating. Managers have made racist comments, sexist and transphobic. They only care about money at the end of the day.

    Advice to Management

You hire people, treat them like it.

    Pros

    Flexible hours
Free cinema ticket for you and a friend
    Discount on food
    Uniform/locker provided
BiMonthly staff outings (organised by employees not the company)
    28 days holiday

    Cons

No fix patten for shift hours
Pay rate is extremely low for London
Not a great chance of progression no matter how much work you put in
Can start early as 8am and finish as late as 2am
    Zero hour contract
    Asked to clean toilets/clean vomit
    Unpaid breaks

    Advice to Management

Help your employees develop into stronger candidates and support them to progress within the company.
Increase the pay rate to meet the national living wage
Give fixed hours (sometimes 37 hours, sometimes 22)

I worked at Cineworld Cinemas full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Work can be enjoyable when with the right team.
    -28 days holiday (full time)
-Free cinema tickets, yadda yadda yadda..

    Cons

-Poor management, and even worse supervisors.
    -Random rota
-Constant deep cleans - if you're closing concessions you'll be leaving work around 3AM --SERIOUSLY. You will not be told beforehand that you will be finishing this later and will be told when you enter work. Allowing NO time for pre-planning or preparation.
    -Little privacy
    -A ridiculous amount of favouritism

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the supervisors you are constantly getting complaints about and consult people WELL BEFORE they are required to do a deep clean.

I worked at Cineworld Cinemas part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's a brilliant place to work if you love movies and go to the cinema often. I worked part-time for about a year whilst studying and it fit well with my university hours. Some late nights & weekend shifts, but that's to be expected. Some of the other colleagues were really nice.

    Cons

What happened to me was that I barely ever used my free movie passes, because the last thing you want to do is 'go into work early' or stay in the same building you've been sweating in later than you possibly can, it usually felt more appealing to get out of there and watch an older movie on the comfort of your couch instead. Management definitely had their favourites who would get priority shifts which felt unfair. It could be stressful at times, and it's not a job where people say "please" and "thank you" a lot, unfortunately.

    Advice to Management

    Less favouritism, more appreciation.

I have been working at Cineworld Cinemas part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Free films (even IMAX). A very good staff discount on snacks. Really good for students; very flexible with availability and day off requests.

    Cons

Head office expect staff at sites to work until 2am on NYE, Xmas eve, etc.. which is absolutely shocking (unfortunately beyond power of the management at each site).

Currently, there's no incentive to take on further training, as it doesn't add to your wages.

There are good opportunities for going up in the company to supervisor role etc but you won't be paid as a supervisor until they formally decide you are adequate (which I've seen to take up to a year before).

    Advice to Management

Run more staff-centric events and nights out. These help the team bond.

Consider maybe even just an extra 50p an hour for those taking on training in non-essential departments.

    Pros

Benefits - Discount on food and drink, free cinema for you and one person.
    Flexible hours for students.
Get to see the films before they are out - (SOMETIMES)
    Hours are poor.

    Cons

    0 hour contract
    Like a playground
Managers dont promote hardworkers - they promote the faces that fit.
    Immature

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff, in every site there are a handful of hard workers that go unnoticed, if i had been appreciated more i would have stayed.
