I have been working at Cineworld Cinemas full-time

    Pros

Managers were fair and friendly. The work can be quite social. 2 free tickets a day.

    Cons

Unsurprisingly, no intellectual element. Cleaning, long/unsociable hours. Can be working 15 hours one week, 45 the next.

I worked at Cineworld Cinemas part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Flexible hours (managers tend to try to accomodate your schedule)
    - Pays slightly better compared to other cinema chains

    Cons

    - Managements is not always quick to fix problems that customers complain about (which translates in more angry customers to deal with)

I worked at Cineworld Cinemas full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Generally good people you work with.
    Free films and discount
Chance to learn and progress if willing to move around

    Cons

Company doesn't listen to the staff, from Team Members through to managers. People making foolish decisions in head office that massively impact people on the front line who have to deal with the fallout and the problems but expected to smile and suck it up.
Huge recent restructure that led to alot of experienced people taking redundancy and walking out. Now huge gaps in knowledge and teams but expected to be business as usual. To be honest Team Member/Team Leader is ok. I don't suggest manager upwards, you will be over worked, under paid and under appreciated

    Cons

I have been working at Cineworld Cinemas part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free films, diverse personalities in fellow colleagues, understanding and accommodating management, training on all areas so tasks change day-to-day, 40% discount on concessions is nice, pay is over minimum wage.

    Cons

Walk-ins are intense and stressful, during weekends and school holidays the customers can be incredibly rude, having to ID for 15 rated films can also be stressful as people get rude there too, you realise just how messy people are in cinemas. Company is not loyal to employees who have worked for 10 years and many very good supervisors have been demoted and subsequently left as a result.

    Advice to Management

More recognition for effort - being told you did well is nice but gets soured when low effort/awkward employees get their own way for the sake of an easier time for management. Head Office needs to have more loyalty and respect to their employees - restructure is having huge effects on the sites in a very bad way.

I worked at Cineworld Cinemas (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Flexible hours
    - Great pay
    - Easy work
    - Emphasis on team work
    -Holiday pay

    Cons

    -Zero contract hours
    - Full time workers find it difficult to get more hours
    -Management was condescending

    Advice to Management

Towards the end of my uni, the management was putting pressure on students to take on more hours and inconspicuously encouraging to prioritising work before our uni responsibilities saying it was in our contract that we are obliged to come in whenever needed even though our contract is only for part time. A few of us ended up resigning.
