    "Solid Company"

Former Employee - Major Account Manager in Overland Park, KS

    I worked at Cintas full-time

    Pros

Good corporate structure, lots of resources to help you succeed, looks after its employees, fast paced. Constantly looking for ways to add new products, brands, enhance existing products, etc. and do it very quickly. Great at adjusting to current market needs and getting products to the market quickly.

    Cons

Very driven by their stock price and shareholders and making a profit over focusing on customers and improving their service model. Always innovating and adding new brands and products, but rarely doing anything to improve the actual service, which makes it hard to justify premium prices. Very old school and traditional culture. Uptight. Need sales people to be much more upfront with the contracts that customers are signing. Way too often customers have no idea just what they are signing up for when they sign their contract which can and does lead to obvious issues.

I worked at Cintas full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Stock options, 4 day work week, performance based comp. plan great for high performers and self starters. Best in industry products. The company makes management trainees post positive reviews. Be aware

    Cons

They don't value their "partners" anymore. They are about the bottom line. Typical of any large corporation they are losing site of what made them successful.

    I worked at Cintas full-time

    Pros

Nice coworkers, you're not stuck in the office

    Cons

Managers all got each other hired. Any issues taken to HR are immediately spread to random employees. Plant management holds grudges on employees and refuses to do their yearly review. 1-2 hours sitting around waiting to check out Management does a lot of what telling you what you need to hear but never actually addressing the issue. Lied to multiple times They only seem to care about company rules when an audit is coming. The hiring process can take up to 6 months Instead of properly training, you get rushed through so they can send you out. It was easier to yell at you for not knowing your job than actually teaching you how to do your job properly. My location didn't do inventory management so customers would be missing mats, towels, or uniforms for weeks to months. When you credit the account, you would get "talked to" because they don't like credits. Any plan to save money, time, and manage inventory was met with "we just don't do things like that" Zero oversight on service. Instead of auditing their load sheet drivers take 100% of their load and bring back over half. With the no inventory management thing this leads to massive shortages. Management meets with angry customers to set a plan to fix the issue. Service is expected to do their part but they are left hanging when management won't do their tasks.

I have been working at Cintas full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free coffee in the break room Friendly work staff

    Cons

Low pay Horrible time-off benefits (first year you receive 40 hours of PTO. That’s sick time, vacation, personal leave, etc. Only 40 for the entire year). Expensive medical benefits 401K is only great if you work here several years (I haven’t known many that stay for more than a year) Promotions not based on knowledge or merit, but on popularity (upper-management seem to basically be figure heads) Miserable co-workers (they’re nice, but miserable) Too much work for each individual (turnover is so high that they pile the work of 2-3 people on to one person until they add another “partner”, which rarely happens) All around: don’t do it.
