    Pros

Great vibe, inspiring atmosphere. Fantastic place to work. There is no pressure as to how much time you spend with tenant on call. Easy going, relaxed office and you are encouraged to take your time on a call with tenants in order to get a first time fix outcome. Daniel Blake head of Centre is very inspiring and has positive energy and a visionary. I absolutely love my Job here😀.

    Cons

It's a great place to work!!!

I have been working at Circle House full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are many good people working within the business who are undoubtably there for the best interest of Circle's tenants and service users and they can be an absolute joy to work with. However, their best efforts are constantly undermined by the inappropriate overreaction by weak managers to internal and external issues (see below).

    Cons

Many weak managers have proved themselves as unable to cope since difficult times hit the business as a result of the recently proposed government reforms and Circle's appalling repairs service.

Backstabbing, nepotism and bad internal communications have become rife which has led to low team morale, job dissatisfaction and employees being made redundant, pigeonholed, or promoted for simply brown nosing the right people.

Meanwhile, one or two extortionately paid directors and external "consultants" have taken advantage of the weak management and wider instability to rinse the business for whatever they can, demanding much higher salaries and influence than they deserve and corrupting Circle Housing's social purpose in the process.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your best employees, not the already overpaid directors and consultants who are part of the problem.

I worked at Circle House full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Similar to public sector benefits so good pension, good holidays. HA staff genuinely care for the most part about their jobs. Good place to work if you keep your head down and/or have good relationships with management

    Cons

Corporate side is a completely different story. Backstabbing and nepotism was rife and unless you werr brown-nosing the right people at the right time you could very easily find your promotion options limited at best, and your job on the line at worst. There's also a different restructure going on every other day - nobody seemed to be safe from the chop other than management.

I have been working at Circle House full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible, agile working; great work life balance, good people - really feel part of a big team. Lots of internal opportunities

    Cons

With current restructure and future merger with Affinity Sutton planned, there is a lot of change & job insecurity for the foreseeable future

    Advice to Management

Hold on to quality employees and try to stop all that passion and knowledge walking out the door

I have been working at Circle House full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People working in the company are very positive and passionate about the what they do for their customers
    Good pockets of collaborative working

    Cons

Changes in Exec team to more corporate/profit focus has made the culture change, for the negative
Focus on Merger and changing the company to look better for it!
Change to T&C's which will cause a lot of people to work longer hours with less holiday for less salary!
Current organisational restructure has not been fully thought through to understand impacts and risks to the company and the customers - some of who are very vulnerable
Cost savings are not all for the "good" of the customer
Consultants brought in to assist with Organisational Change have waited Circles money - we have/had the talent internally who would have been able to understand the working world of the company
All of the above and more causing good talented people to leave

    Advice to Management

STOP and review what is happening around the company, staff are demotivated and leaving.
Even ones who remain during this restructure are demotivated, the changes to the T&C's are not helping to build trust and support from the people who remain loyal to Circle in this time of such (painful) change.

    Pros

Professional development with lots of support from manager and colleagues. Friendly staff who are keen to help. Collaborative working to support each other

    Cons

Silo working in some areas of the business which can be mitigated with more staff events and away days. More conversations with the senior staff would be useful

    Advice to Management

More support for front line staff

I worked at Circle House full-time

    Pros

It's a big company so should be lots of opportunities

    Cons

If your face doesn't fit or you can't work 24 x 7 then forget it.

    Advice to Management

Learn to appreciate all your employees not just the 20 something yes men/women. They will use you and leave ... You need stability, don't abuse the older workforce. We are not idiots because we choose a work life balance, you are for expecting 100% work.
