    Pros

Circuit City has a diverse workforce and highly values employee feedback. Retail management, from my experience, can make a productive personal life difficult. Having worked at Best Buy and Circuit City in management I can confidently say that Circuit City permits more of a life/work balance.

    Cons

If you follow the financial news you should be aware of some of the downsides of Circuit City. Having gone through a few rounds of layoffs its difficult to feel secure at work.

    Advice to Management

Stay the course. The tough changes are hopefully done. We learned from our mistakes and the Field Management is committed to success.

    Pros

Respect, recognition, learning experience, good teams, dedication among employees, technically sound, always open for innovative ideas, confidence with fellow workers and everyone possesses the Never say no attitude, determined to reach out for the turnover considering the fact that the market is bad and more competitors, managers are nice and everyone is responsible for the work they do and have customers as the first priority in mind.

    Cons

Little too easy with employees that they might misuse it.

    Advice to Management

Keep the sales drive on and achieve goals one at a time, and reach out to the customers. We really need to improve our advertisements. They need to be catchy.

    Pros

    Fun
Possible chance to work with hot young co-eds. It is unfortunate to see what happend to circuit city the past ten years. They were an awesome company to work for in the late 90's and early 00's, but when they got rid of appliances and then commissioned employees were their demise.

Most of the employees formed a bond and would be friends in and outside of work, it was a great place to meet new people.

By 2005 everyone CC tried to run the store with a skeleton crew, this opened up an easy way for thieves to steal thousands and thousands of dolars work of electronics and cds/dvds/games. Circuit City just did not evolve.

    Cons

Too many hours for management job.

    Advice to Management

    Sorry to see you go.

    Pros

    Great talent within my department.

    Cons

The executive leadership was quite poor, and the company was driven into the ground. By the time it was recognized that changes needed to be made, it was too late, and the company was already on the slippery slope towards failure.

    Advice to Management

N/A, as they are now out of business. If I had a time machine, I'd go back and prevent the firing of the so-called generously compensated store employees; all that decision accomplished was attracting a firestorm of unwanted bad publicity, as well as providing our customers with poor customer service.
