    Pros

    - Great colleagues - Opportunity for business travel - Product development is rewarding

    Cons

    - Toxic corporate culture, one where most people talk about exit strategies - Questionable leadership - Group gatherings feel like they're planned for photos ops more than for fun

I worked at Circus World Displays full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Some great people work here.

    Cons

Worst company and worst employer I've ever worked for. The business is family owned and the brothers can't seem to agree on anything. The tension is palpable whenever they're together and it makes for very awkward meetings. The older brother is extremely socially awkward, dishonest, and is completely out of touch with the real world. He micromanages to an extreme, sets unachievable goals and expectations, and has no respect for other people's time. Despite always asking for it, he doesn't value feedback and just uses it against you, so it's best to just smile and nod and keep your mouth shut. That's what most people in the company have learned to do. He doesn't trust his staff or listen to anyone's advice or strategies and then blames everyone for poor performance and declining sales, when he really only has himself to blame for his failing business. The company's mission is to "Create What's Different" but they do the complete opposite. They are focused on outdated policies and procedures that keep people from actually getting any work done. If you're literally just two minutes late, you're written up, but there is no appreciation for the hours you may spend working after end of day. There are a lot of good people who work there but turnover is extremely high. 80% of the staff I talked to wish they worked elsewhere but with not many options in the Niagara area, they feel stuck. The recruitment process also takes forever (several months of countless interviews) and there is no training. They also seem to favour younger and inexperienced workers who unfortunately don't know any better, all so they can manipulate them and use them as scapegoats when things go wrong. If you want to be a lemming who is overworked, undervalued, and underpaid, this is the place for you.

I have been working at Circus World Displays full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Company is growing and if successful can have large impact and grow within the company. People there are great. Focused on culture, provide rewards and corporate lunches once a month. Safe and clean environment.

    Cons

Turnover is an issue. High expectations. Compensation package could improve with regards to vacation, lieu time and pay at some levels. It has been improving but recent contracts removed lieu time which means if you work 60 hour week, no compensation or time off but instead built into your pay.

    Pros

Creative and Forward Thinking! Teamwork Approach Always Striving for Excellence Stable and Considerate Poised for Massive Growth Standard Operating Procedures

    Cons

The company is currently in a high growth period so restructuring presents its challenges. Too many balls in the air sometimes. I think all companies struggle with these issues. Strive for faster more educated decision making.

I have been working at Circus World Displays full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

CWD is a dynamic and fast-paced business. The environment is professional without feeling too stuffy or stuck up. Since it's a relatively young company, there really aren't any "lifers" or know-it-all types around. New hires are welcomed by the team and usually integrate quickly. Management has made a good effort to encourage a team environment, and holds regular company and department events. For almost all employees, the hours are 8:00-5:00, Monday-Friday with no overtime expected. The work/life balance is good and nobody is expected to answer cell phones after 5:00 etc. All full-time employees receive benefits and management is flexible when time-off is needed for appointments and family matters. Tuition reimbursement is available for qualifying courses. There are opportunities to move up in the company, and most current managers have been promoted from within. It's a great place to gain experience and take on new challenges to grow your skill set.

    Cons

-Being a fast-paced environment, change comes quickly and relatively often. -Management has high expectations and holds employees accountable (not a con but some people have a hard time with this)

I worked at Circus World Displays full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Everything here is honest - this is not a joke and please consider everything said seriously. - Cut down your coffee intake - Breaks not allowed until 10:30am, and this includes salary staff - Click with your colleagues - Everyone talks about the same thing, where the next job openings in Niagara are - Multitasking - Never sleep in again - If you're one minute late you'll get written up, I did.

    Cons

    - Pay - Morale - Negativity follows you home - Stressful - Led by fear - Stressful - Most importantly, the Co-CEOs have had little experience in the work world other than working for their parents and now for their own business. You will be one of their servants - and this isn't far off, it's part of their culture.
