I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, awesome culture, ability to work with intelligent peers and managers who are willing to help when you need it. My position is also highly flexible, which is one of the greatest benefits.

    Cons

Cisco can operate as a large company and sometimes this impedes the ability to get things processed quickly. In addition, the diversity at Cisco can be improved. Cisco is great about hiring women but can hire professional of different ethnicities to improve overall diversity. Overall, awesome place to work!

    Advice to Management

Please continue to hire diverse candidate and improve company tools to ensure teams are most productive.

I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people. The technology. The teamwork.

    Cons

Old School boys club still exists in sales. It's not based on capabilities but who you know. If your in sales there is a lack of opportunities to move upward. Very few women in sales leadership roles.

    Advice to Management

Time to blow up the sales organization. The culture has changed and seems to have reverted back to 2000.

I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Diversity is top of the list of importance at Cisco. The company is looking for new talent all the time. If you are one who loves change in technology, Cisco is a company for you.

    Cons

You have to know someone to move up in the organization. 80% of the time it is who you know and not what you know. Very political like most big companies.

Breadth of solutions to represent, dedicated to diversity, excellent pay and benefits package, and commitment to making the world a better place - Cisco lives that daily. Very inclusive and generally does an excellent job of communicating strategy and goals through town hall style meetings

    Cons

Regular right-sizing of the business can sometimes catch employees off-guard.

I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I love selling Cisco's technology. I am always learning something new. It's fast paced, exciting, and I love my customers. I am part of Conexion, Cisco's Latinx Employee Resource Organization (ERO) and I appreciate that Cisco has so many ERO's to chose from. Incredible benefits. Flexible schedules. Feel like I can make a difference. Very ethical company. #Love where youwork

    Cons

If you aren't colocated in the same city as a business unit, there's less opportunities for upward movement. Cisco should also query the sales team more regarding ideas for solutions for our clients. Also market more to potential employees. We are an incredible company, stop making such a secret.

    Advice to Management

Create more opportunities to rotate from the field to the business unit. I think it would help everyone get a better understanding of each other's roles. Also, recruit younger people into virtual sales roles that can lead to field positions.
