I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

BFPWGP or Best Freaking Place to Work, Grow and Play!
I have been with Cisco for 11 years and I am truly excited each day because I have an opportunity to think about my current role, my opportunity to grow and most important my value to the community and believe it or not earth.
In my role, i have learned so much about the importance of Sustainability and how WE need to sever the umbilical cord to Mother Earth. Cisco creates conscious citizens that are culturally responsible and push beyond their wildest imagination. I encourage you to find an opportunity here at Cisco, I promise you will have a lasting career. #LoveWhereYouWork.

    Cons

There is a lack of diversity in Cisco although great strides being made. we have a ways to go. i encourage to explore more diversity at the mid level management level.

    Advice to Management

Continue to develop and improve diversity at the mid level management level. This only enhances the diverse perspectives for our Company.

I have been working at Cisco Systems as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Cisco's culture is totally underrated and the work-life balance this place offers is really awesome. Cisco is divided into different BU's and departments I worked in the supply chain and I really liked my group and my manager. Cisco encourages employees to move around within cisco and try out different BUs and teams which is really cool they are also supportive if you have a new idea or something new you want to try cisco and if they really like it and see a benefit for the company they may even sponsor it!

    Cons

as previously mentioned Cisco has different BUs so you may come into one that you don't like and not like Cisco but there's a lot of options

    Advice to Management

For those with interns, just be there to answer questions, introduce interns to a lot of people. Treat interns like you would regular employees!

I have been working at Cisco Systems as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

As an intern I was so surprised about how working at Cisco was like working for a startup in the corporate world. There culture shows they value their employees by giving them great benefits while making life/work an easy balance. If you have a positive attitude and determination Cisco gives you the support to make sure you have a success career. The HRUP rotational program expects you to be your best self and supports you with any of your needs. Most importantly everyone at Cisco is so different and this is highly embraces this really allowing you to be your authentic self at work. There are many outlets to find your communities as well. Within HRUP you will be able to have high impact projects as an intern!

    Cons

Flexibility to work from home is amazing at Cisco, but sometimes I find personally hard because I like being able to have my community within the office.

    Advice to Management

Keep being upbeat and transparent with the employees

    Pros

The HRUP community is one that every member should be proud to be a part of. Everyone is so close-knit, always willing to lend a hand, supportive, and genuinely cares about your success with the program. The program does a great job of matching your assignments with your interests, and putting you on a team that will set you up for success.

    Cons

I spent my internship in San Jose, CA (HQ). Cost of living was insane.
