I worked at Cisco Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Dynamic, technology portfolio breadth & leadership, highly talented group of employees, people oriented

    Cons

Big size now making huge negative impact on speed of decision-making, original meritocracy culture now spotty, lots of dead weight nowadays, very challenged in driving sustained innovation commitment

    Advice to Management

Ensure new acquisitions and innovation initiatives are structured to have TOTAL autonomy for minimum 3+ years; Most projects have no more than 5 decision-making stakeholders.

I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work life balance is huuuuge with Cisco. Most non-engineering employees are completely free to work remotely. Cisco practices what it preaches by allowing employees to use webex and work from ANYWHERE.

The pay. In general, Cisco pays in the 80th percentile so if you work their, it's difficult to leave for financial reasons

    Cons

Remote work has real downsides. If you're not in San Jose, exposure and career growth can be difficult. Engagement can be an issue when your only encounters with real life people come at starbucks

    Advice to Management

Invest in culture outside of san jose.

    Pros

Cisco has been a great place to work and develop professionally. Salary is above-average, bennys are outstanding, and management is solid.

    Cons

Death march projects are no fun but they are at every company.

    Advice to Management

Better bonus and review packages for employees.

I have been working at Insight Global (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Jessie Dalebroux and Insight Global are by far the best recruiter and staffing agency I've had the privilege to work with. Jessie Dalebroux personally filled 2 out of the 6 openings we had for a new team and project at Cisco Systems and Insight Global filled 4 out of the 6. Jessie had me interviewed and onboarded in exactly 10 business days. I didn't even think that was possible but she offered to assist over the weekend to make sure Cisco had the right candidates and placed for the project start time. Talk about nick of time delivery. I'm very impressed with Jessie Dalebroux and undoubtedly has amazing backing at Insight Global. Special Thanks to Erica Udell for providing such superb backing.

    Cons

Nothing to speak of. Nothing less than excellent anyway

    Advice to Management

Give this gal a promotion, pay her more and do whatever you can to keep her happy, business leaders like myself are likely to steel people like Jessie Dalebroux away.
