Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

    Negatives Outweigh the Few Positives

    Pros

I learned a lot in my time there as it was my first real job out of college. It's a good stepping stone. I met some really great people. Culture was pretty relaxed as far as PTO and no one breathing down your neck about things like tardiness. Health insurance is very solid.

    Cons

Pay is low with little to no room for growth. Annual raises are a joke. New CEO changed a lot of things for the worse including decimating entire departments. Management doesn't seem to look out for their employees. Very little stability as far as culture is concerned and lack of job security.
