"Employee Blacklisting in the Compliance Department"

I worked at Citi full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good employee benefits and a modern facility with a workout gym.

    Cons

My review is based on my experience working in the compliance department in Irving, Texas and not Citigroup as I enjoyed working for the company. The company moved a portion of work from Tampa to Irving to start a compliance division in Texas. However, in the transition there was no guidance or direction from management. The training was rushed and not cohesive. There were many issues in the department and employee morale became low as such there was mass exodus. Instead of management looking into resolving the issues, they began blacklisting all employees that left. Recently I heard the department had undergone changes and has a new management team so I began to re-apply for positions at Citi. However, keep getting the standard automated emails which state that I have not been selected for the position. Although I have all the job qualifications and I’m a former employee that left the company in good standing, there seems to be a roadblock. I also heard other former employees are having the same problem. Some have even reached out to the head compliance recruiter for the Dallas area, she has not responded to their emails or returned their phone calls. This is very unfortunate and unprofessional as no one should be treated in this manner. It is clear retaliation and I plan to seek guidance on this matter.

    Advice to Management

Please do not hinder employee's career development. A manager should encourage career growth whether it is with or outside the company.
