    Pros

Great people and atmosphere. Generally no micro-management. Great opportunities re mobility - offices all over the world.

    Cons

Scarce resources due to cost cutting same as everywhere.

    Advice to Management

Provide career/talent development and professional training to administrative staff.

I have been working at Citi full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Good salary if you get into a team with high visibility
    - Work hours are moderately relaxed for most teams

    Cons

    - Forget about promotion if you don't play the politics game
    - Company lacks technical leadership
    - Code quality varies a lot between teams
    - Agile is not properly applied

    Advice to Management

You need to realise that developers are not costs but assets of the organisation.

I worked at Citi full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Fantastic organisation and institution. Dynamic. Competitive compensation. Fabulous career opportunities. An intelligent culture and one that is positively challenging.

    Cons

Being such a large, global company one drawback for some will be the need to work remotely with colleagues around the world, often in a matrix structure. However, many see this as an opportunity and enjoy this aspect of the environment.

    Advice to Management

Keep linking overall company imperatives to individual team members goals, and reinforce communications about the connection to make everyone in the bank understand how they are supporting the overall company.

I worked at Citi (More than 10 years)

    Pros

"Can-do" New York H-Qed Bank with huge geographic footprint. Diverse, competent, professional people. On the whole very collegiate and friendly - an interesting and fun place to work. Lots of "extra-curricular" activities and a good CSR focus. Excellent transaction banking and services divisions.

    Cons

Very diverse product sets so difficult to achieve consistently good culture across the whole - e.g. investment versus transaction banking. Can be bureaucratic. Loyalty penalized in terms of salary - long-term employees can be taken for granted.

    Advice to Management

Be mindful of messaging to "low cost centres/centres of excellence" - there is some evidence that employees in low cost locations believe they are excellent but underpaid/undertitled compared to those in higher cost locations.

I worked at Citi full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Lots of training across multiple jurisdictions, wide alumni network that comes in handy at later stages in a career, exposure to multiple bank verticals

    Cons

Reviews skewed towards views of immediate line managers rather than true 360
views (which at times is great but at others can damage juniors), highly bureaucratic

    Advice to Management

Given the investment in analyst/associate training, some MD's should take better care of junior resource rather than accept that the best move on to other places

    Pros

Very good company and very good work environment in the Internal Audit department. Salaries are good although not excellent compared to the market.

    Cons

Sometimes you feel like it's too big and humans relationships are managed poorly. There are no bonuses in Internal Audit. Career mobility is not good.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in people technical development. People is what matter the most and requires constant attention from the management.
