I worked at Citi (Less than a year)

    Pros

A truly Global Bank, with an amazing culture that helps each employee grow individually. This place is very inspiring with intellectually stimulating environment that teaches you a lot.

    Cons

Might be intimidating at times. Difficult to find the right person for the work you need to do. It is a very adaptable environment but still because it is such a big organisation some processes could take a lot of time.

    Advice to Management

Keep the spirit and the work culture intact, it is something that makes Citi such an inspiring place. The networking events and work shadowing both were a great experience got to learn a lot so keep it going. My spring internship was one of the best experiences I have had in the UK.

I have been working at Citi full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are really no pros to Citi.

    Cons

Lacking: opportunity, technology, commission, too much paper work

    Advice to Management

Better training and mentorship, hire more PBs, and Tellers, managers should not take sales, they are there to make sure branch is running smoothly. Please tell your marketing team to understand our products and services. Promotions are all over the place and are unclear.

I have been working at Citi full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They have a college rotational program for graduates. You get to learn multiple parts of the business.

Current UI team I am working for and now working full time for is a very important team with lots of areas for growth and opportunities.

Citi in general is more casual then other banks. You are expected to work in business casual and job security is much better then some large scale banks.

    Cons

For rotation program, I have to give some caution that not all rotational groups are the same and many can be of lower quality then others. Some groups just use you as an extra resource rather then give you anything to help you grow your skills.

Citi, like a big banks, are bureaucratic, political and they focus much more on the financing then the tech. The current UI team I am working for maybe a little better at updating their tech stack and on-boarding good people but it still suffers from what I have said previously.

Current UI team never pushes back against business to give employees time to properly test, analyze or even code. This can produce a lot of bugs, lower the teams coding standards and cause unnecessary stress for everyone.

Growth (like promotions) in the company can be slow.

    Advice to Management

The tech stack and the employees are great but maybe you should give employees more time to test so that the teams code can be more maintainable.

I worked at Citi full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Career growth, lots of learning and opportunities to be exposed to goo deals in the market, it is like learning whole working as they believe in continuous growth, challenging

    Cons

Not really a con but be ready to allocate a lot of your time. There are days when you just do the regular hours but when deals are in process esp if for execution, then you need to ready to be fully committed and follow through

    Cons

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, great team to work with, several weeks of paid time off. Ability to work remotely and a very family friendly environment with understanding of personal needs
