I have been working at Citi full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are great and the job is fairly easy as long as you have a basic customer service skills. There's also an abundance of departments to choose to work in.

    Cons

Unless you're willing to stroke egos all day you will see people that do less work than you get promoted before you. You will also notice that people who are "buddies" with management are not hel as accountable as everyone else .

    Advice to Management

Stop letting people that brown nose and don't work as hard move up over people that take pride in their work and performance.

    Pros

Opportunities to transfer within the company, expanding your knowledge and gaining new experiences. Ability to grow professionally and learning different businesses or processes.

    Cons

Initiatives to cut costs are relocating or discontinuing jobs. In the past two years I've had to change roles twice, due to these reasons.

    Advice to Management

Practice good communication with your team and directs. Communication is key to building good relationships and building trust.

I have been working at Citi full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

volunteer group options, opportunity to move depending on your position and who you know.

    Cons

Difficult to transfer to other areas, salaries do not match other firms. some people are overworked while others are into socializing. Layoffs are inevitable do not look at this as a career opportunity those days are of the past.

    Advice to Management

Need to stop thinking of the "open floor plan" as the way to go. To much socializing goes on in this environment and concentration is at an all time low. Promote people who deserve it and give work to those who management knows socialize or do personal items all day. Management needs to remove their BLINDERS and stop worrying about the move to 388. they are also afraid to speak up when something is wrong and attitudes are just do what is expected of you not what you know should be. Sad the firm was amazing before the new regime has come in all they are worried about is having the "Google" platform.

    I worked at Citi full-time

    Pros

Great Benefits and offers a variety of products!

    Cons

Short staffed and spread very thin. Some branches are closed on Saturdays so if you happen to be working in a branch that is open on Saturday, you're expected to work 6 days a week. No work/ life balance. You become burnt out especially when you are putting in 8-10 hrs. Weekdays!

    Advice to Management

Put your self in your employees shoes!!!! Senior Management I would ask you when was the last time did you run a branch? Switch job for a week and see how much we go through.... It's much easier to be setting in a office somewhere uninterrupted typing tons of emails & setting up conference calls!!!!

    Pros

Decent payout, established brand. High net worth clients to work with.

    Cons

Company is being bled by cost cuts. Branches look shabby, phone support unit is terrible, falling behind industry leaders such as Chase Bank.

    Advice to Management

    Invest more in your business.
