I have been working at Citi full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Internal mobility opportunities, learning and development agenda is strong, work/life balance good if you have boundaries, flexible working, benefits, challenging and interesting work, truly regional and global work,

    Cons

Too much focus on revenue generating and not enough on behaviours, poor leadership and manager capability due to promotion of specialists into managerial roles instead of people with actual leader experience and/or aptitude - place is full of individual contributors

    Advice to Management

Ensure next level down are held accountable for cascading organisational change initiatives - you'll never change if they don't

I worked at Citi full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of good stuff you can get into. You make your career, if you look around..Great benefits, and people who want to get things done. Brand and global experiance

    Cons

In Tech, its starting to fall behind the bell curve on tech solutions, its clear its focus is on business and not tech. Im not so sure it can keep up the pace and is already showing cracks on its tech platforms and solutions.
Not such a great career for Tech people, limited I would say. You only realise once you leave just how far behind in Tech it really is. But still thankful for the opportunities it can provide.
Work life balance is difficult, and you will work long hours and be expected to take on more and more responsibilities as it continues to reduce its Tech workforce, the work does not disappear. Retention has been dropping through the floor due to this "suck it up attitude" from leadership. Most certainly not your 9 to 5 job, expect to do 10hr days, not much opportunity for training and development, and if you are remotely managed, you will tend to be forgotten about to an extent. Collaboration is a word picked out of the dictionary, and the silo mentally is still strong in many places.
Remember, this firm is about $$ and not about the people. Have that mindset and you will do just fine and properly get a promotion on the back of it.
(this review is related to technology and not the rest of the firm, which I'm sure is all ok)

    Advice to Management

Stop talking about leadership, you are good managers, leadership is about people. When selecting to reduce workforce, why is the top layer always protected from being put on the risk list. Managers need to get closer to the coal face of what people do. Yes, data tells only one story, but won't tell you the part of the story, as in people.
