I worked at Citicorp North America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Diversity, benefits, large scale projects, not just mobile apps. The individual people are great.

    Cons

Pay is just below average and you will not get many raises or bonuses...Make sure you negotiate up-front and be prepared for 2 to 4 % raises if that. I had 2 years with no raise or bonus. Never a bonus over $4000. The highest increase was 4% one year.

    Advice to Management

The employee evaluation process is very flawed. It forces higher ups to choose winners and losers and despite the "words" it is very subjective and subject to manager's discretion. I had bad years I was evaluated well. My best years I got nothing. Never made sense. Also, you have too many consultants and not enough FTE's.

I worked at Citicorp North America full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

When I began with this company, I couldn't stop singing its praises. The company was extremely good to its customers AND employees. I was honored to be apart of the family.

    Cons

When I first began in this role, it was all about the customer and what was best for their finances. About five years before I left the company, things began to change towards hitting what I and many others considered unrealistic goals.

I worked at Citicorp North America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Citicorp call centers have quality people working for them. As an employee, I had a blast with my co employees.

    Cons

They are weird with policies & always contradict themselves. For example, they offer help paying college classes but then make it impossible to change your schedule once theyve paid for the courses. Or they offer hugely discounted child care on premesis, but their health plan makes you pay extra for family planning.

    Advice to Management

Upper management doesnt understand that by making their employees happy, they would get better work. Crunching numbers & crying about time on a call is annoying & repetetive. Some calls take awhile.

I worked at Citicorp North America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Its a large organization with growth opportunities if you are not a Finance Professional.

    Cons

Citi is moving all of its Finance positions outside of the US to low cost locations. It is a horrible place to work. Ridiculous hours, and no concern for the employee. Very unprofessional. Only workers face discrimination.

    Advice to Management

Reconsider the jobs being moved outside the US. Also, reconsider older employees who have alot to contribute and are not valued.

    Pros

Great benefits, 401K matching, Health bennies ok

    Cons

BAd bosses, hard, long hours, misunderstood direction and impossible tasks delegated to me.

    Advice to Management

More theory Y than Theory X management style. Listen to your people, hire more staff who are competent to do the work.
