I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Management cares about employee career goals; there are plenty of webinars and online educational tools for industry-specific training; the bank offers round-table forums for different people, in various departments, to engage in discussions about things going on in the bank: updates, technology, business, etc...

    Cons

The one con that comes to mind is that there is a lot of physical movement within the office. I've been in my current department for five years and my fourth move, in the same office building, will take place in a week.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be that they be a little bit more open to ideas and change.

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Nice benefits and great work life balance...depending on your role and manager.

    Cons

Salaries bumps for internal job candidates are minimal and there is a ton of red tape around salaries for internal promotions. If you want to make any money at Citizens, you have to come from the outside. In many cases direct reports have higher salaries than their managers.

I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

People are nice. There's a good variety of what you can do for the company so the work isn't monotonous.

    Cons

Pay is too low. Workload is too much in some cases as there are unrealistic expectations. No room for career advancement.

    Advice to Management

Give a chance to make more money for the people who are putting in a real effort

    Cons

The CFG Treasury group is very male dominated with no diversity and no appetite to promote women.

I worked at Citizens Bank (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Opportunity to learn and advance was a positive. Ability to move within divisions rather easily. Enjoyed working with the people there.

    Cons

Hours were fairly long and weekend work was fairly typical. Also, the organization was rather top heavy, which meant more work for analysts.

I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Ability to take badge of projects

    Cons

Not a lot of focus on employee retention
Major difference in comp for capital markets versus the rest of the bank

    Advice to Management

Decide on what you want the bank to be and execute a plan - cfg seems in limbo between a regional commercial bank and a full fledged investment bank (in the mold of STRH / 5/3 / PNC) but right now is neither.
