I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Customer service expectations are extremely high. Company is always trying to improve. Not a huge amount of micromanaging depending on management.

    Cons

    High turnover
Always changing incentive system, which is not good.
Constant changes within policies and procedures on a daily basis.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within with people that are eager to learn instead of someone off the street trying to bounce from position to position.

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

technology is much better than the smaller banks

    Cons

Highly stressful work environment. Big sales expectations but no focus on taking care of existing customers or on providing good customer service in general. All management cares about are sales.

    Advice to Management

Improve culture and focus on taking care of existing clients. Value the relationships you already have.

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good company culture and financial products.

    Cons

Lending is too conservative and the Universal Banker job is a know everything do everything position, very difficult to manage. Growth was limited for me thus I quit.

    Advice to Management

Pay accordingly base on responsibility and work load. Universal Banker has lots to learn but very little room for growth. Pay does not reflect work responsibility.

Decent pay, advancement opportunity if you're willing to put in the time, At the end of the day it's a bank but overall a fine experience. Flexible work from home options. Decent work life balance. Would recommend in most situations

    Cons

Not a pay for performance culture despite what they preach, extremely political, needs to stay within heir niche va trying to out compete the large banks

    Advice to Management

Know your place in the market and become the best in it

I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Incentives, pay, benefits, colleagues, work/life balance, career opportunities.

    Cons

Training/coaching, in-store hours are different and if you are placed in an in store location your are required to be a teller.

    Advice to Management

The training program needs to be looked at a little closer. Giving new hires a book and then having them open accounts in the training classes does not help them when it comes to working the branch. Business accounts and lending can be difficult to open with all the required documents that the customer needs. More role plays that actually go through the entire process with characters that are not the students in the class, but rather other colleagues might be more beneficial.

    Pros

    Cons

The CFG Treasury group is very male dominated with no diversity and no appetite to promote women.

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1. On the job training.
    2. Good team atmosphere throughout community.
    3. Good place if you wan to start a career in banking.

    Cons

    1. My branch often felt like putting it was putting out fires.
    2. A lot of new people and lack of accountability.
    3. Archaic software.

    Advice to Management

I loved working here, but really believe that there should be more of a focus on common practices that all branches must follow within the structure of the bank, instead of being so retail focused.

    My Theory Is:
If you inspire within the branch, and within the team environment (especially with new people): the vision, mission, and practicals within every employees; then selling products will come naturally to everybody. This would result in a shared mission and common values to be anchored in, even during the tough times!
