I worked at Citizens Bank (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Opportunity to learn and advance was a positive. Ability to move within divisions rather easily. Enjoyed working with the people there.

    Cons

Hours were fairly long and weekend work was fairly typical. Also, the organization was rather top heavy, which meant more work for analysts.

    Pros

Hourly and bonuses available. Full time. Vacation time is also good. As long as you're doing what has to be done great chances of being promoted.

    Cons

Meeting Checking goals. In store branches are open 7 days a week. Depending on how well the branch is staffed may need to work multiple 9-7 shifts.

I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The customers are really the best part of the job. Being able to help them meet their needs really helps make the job great. Helping your employees close sales and teaching the skills to be a successful banker is really rewarding. The bank does provide excellent training and the branch employees are really the backbone of the bank.

    Cons

In store branch does have longer hours. The bank as a whole does not seem interested in supporting the in store branches. Traditional branches have more employees with less staffed hours and local traditional branches do not like help staffing the branches. I spend more time on the teller line then managing my branch due to being short staffed. High expectations are set on individual bankers who get frustrated and look to leave the bank. Senior management puts blame on turnover on the management rather than evaluating the branch staffing model.

    Advice to Management

Evaluate the branch model to help assist the customers and employees. Also get more colleagues into senior management with an insight of day to day branch working in today's environment.

    Pros

It was a good way to jumpstart my career. The culture of the staff was very positive and also community oriented.
