I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The company is very employee centric -- great benefits, fair pay, and a very respectful work environment. Citizens has afforded me many different opportunities to grow my skills and hold various positions. It's a friendly and oftentimes fun environment where coworkers are always willing to lend a hand.

    Cons

Pay is not top of market, but it is fair.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to employees as you have been doing!

I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working in the branch as a banker you learn tons of different products and how a customer can utilize them and you learn these things quick.

    Cons

Lots of sales pressure and until you get to management nobody really cares about you.

    Advice to Management

Show some more effort to your employees and you'd get better retention numbers and better results

I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Management cares about employee career goals; there are plenty of webinars and online educational tools for industry-specific training; the bank offers round-table forums for different people, in various departments, to engage in discussions about things going on in the bank: updates, technology, business, etc...

    Cons

The one con that comes to mind is that there is a lot of physical movement within the office. I've been in my current department for five years and my fourth move, in the same office building, will take place in a week.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be that they be a little bit more open to ideas and change.

I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

scheduling is flexible, benefits like insurance and paid time off are excellent, staff size is pretty small (usually consists of 5 people) but as long as we are fully staffed like that its nice because its easier to get to know and communicate with a smaller group. Everyone always knows whats going on and it helps with customer service

    Cons

sometimes the goals seem high to achieve but i think they do a good job trying new things out to see what works. i no longer work for a multi site location (thank goodness) which is only assigned to one manager but when i was it was extremely stressful and i don't see that making it any easier on management to focus on ops, coaching, selling and everything that they have to do and that Citizens wants them to do. It also takes sales time away from bankers who did not sign up for a management role because they have to take on additional responsibilities they normally wouldn't have to do. Branch Management positions don't open that much so it makes it a little hard to advance but this could also be seen as a good thing

    Advice to Management

stay engaged with your colleagues. Show that you work hard and that you are part of the team. If you work then your employees should never have anything negative to stay. I have heard a lot in the past from employees that their managers are always MIA. My direct managers however have always been terrific. Excellent sales people, always willing to help both customers and staff. I know other branches sometimes are not that lucky.
