I worked at Citizens Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1. On the job training.
    2. Good team atmosphere throughout community.
    3. Good place if you wan to start a career in banking.

    Cons

    1. My branch often felt like putting it was putting out fires.
    2. A lot of new people and lack of accountability.
    3. Archaic software.

    Advice to Management

I loved working here, but really believe that there should be more of a focus on common practices that all branches must follow within the structure of the bank, instead of being so retail focused.

    My Theory Is:
If you inspire within the branch, and within the team environment (especially with new people): the vision, mission, and practicals within every employees; then selling products will come naturally to everybody. This would result in a shared mission and common values to be anchored in, even during the tough times!

I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy to bonus, bank hours and holidays which is great. It's a good stepping stone but not much other than that.

    Cons

Hard to use PTO how you want, forced to only take weeks at a time not cooperative whatsoever. Manager will turn their back on you if needed to benefit themselves. Poor compensation, asked for a raise and got majorly disrespected, when you put in your two weeks they act like they care but don't offer anything to try and keep you. Poor poor management and incredibly high turn over rate. I've been at my location for 2 years and have seen at least 10 people come and go.

    Advice to Management

Need to screen better for employees and crack down on managers. Need to have better compensation for people who are sticking it out with the company trying to stay.

I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Coworkers are amazing at this company. They are very knowledgeable and are willing to help in any way. They have an excellent training program also.

    Cons

The customer base is horrible. Most customers feel entitled and look down upon you. This job is all about sales. If you aren't willing to go above and beyond for no extra pay or recognition this job is for you.

I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Turnover is tremendous because management has a different set of rules for the same job roles. Management only tells you what you want to hear. I read these negative reviews and thought, not me. These people are too sensitive, surely this bank cannot be that bad. All of the reviews are spot on....IT IS BAD! Do not work for this bank.
It is made known that you are an expendable employee no matter how hard you work or what skills/ideas bring to the table. Way too many changes in applications and programs so you're always having to learn a new way to do something and handle customer dissatisfaction/corrections when it goes wrong-and it always goes wrong. No Leadership.
Communication is one way and supervisors are not concerned with what is going on from day to day. Undisciplined, unethical, and unprofessional! If you work here and have any amount of integrity; it will be compromised by the time you leave. No matter how hard HR tries to sell you on how great this bank is, don't buy into it. Most coworkers hate being here and cannot wait to get out....including me, (HORRIBLE) environment....!

    Cons

Highly stressful environment, i remember days without having lunch, everyone throws each other under the bus!

    Advice to Management

Please stop hiring managers that they don't have experience specially they've had never been in banking environment.

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most of my co workers were great to work with and you meet some nice customers, the work is easy and repetitive, good benefits and vacation time.

    Cons

Always short staffed and the work load is stressful, management is terrible and disconnected, you are not compensated fairly for the amount of work you do.

    Advice to Management

Always short staffed and good employees are not fairly compensated or recognized.

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The only good thing about banking are the hours and the banker holidays off. The pay was pretty decent here as well.

    Cons

Ridiculous sales goals and the stress to get them done. All this place cares about is the goals, doesn't matter how good of a job you do for everything else.
