    I worked at Citizens full-time

    Pros

Great learning process and people are willing to help you out all the time. This is a great place to start your professional career and learn from the insurance industry

    Cons

Company still has like an old way of doing things and that keeps them from evolving a little faster than the competition

    Advice to Management

Be more open to new ideas and technology so processes can be shortened and improved and make things easier for customers and employees

company claims to be full of leaders I've only met managers.

I worked at Citizens full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good beginners desk job I guess.

    Cons

Lack of training, once you are trained they change what you learned so your training is irrelevent, everything is by paper and they still use microfiche as part of their record keeping, you have to dress up all the time even though you don't meet with clients, treat you horribly if you have to leave early (they literally tried to have me fired because I was pregnant and had to go to prenatal appointments despite informing them of when my appointments were and how long I would be gone), extremely petty coworkers who are passive aggressive

    Advice to Management

Have procedures in place and stick to them so that training is possible. Don't retaliate against employees for having documented medical reasonings for needing to be late or leave work. Don't take so much pride in being a conservative company, there are new innovations that could really benefit your company, such as upgrading your filing system.

I worked at Citizens full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Experience learning various state and international laws regarding insurance benefits.
Great for someone looking for administrative experience because you draft letters, set up/close claim files, input data into new claims software, and follow up with pending claims.
The company is headed in a great direction as a whole in terms of communication, technology and re-branding the company culture.
The break room is always filled with free coffee and teas and the vending machine snacks are inexpensive.
There are several wellness events throughout the year in different parts of Austin which allows you to meet other employees in different departments.

    Cons

The company is working on improving communication within departments and throughout the company.
Not the safest part of town but they did hire a security guard that monitors the building and cars.

    Advice to Management

Keep improving the lines of communication- I think you're doing a great job.

Current Employee - Banker in Pittsburgh, PA

    Pros

The people you work with are Great friendly and helpful. Bounces can be rewarding but dificult to obtain. Manages do there best

    Cons

Goals are almost impossible to hit. Bounce structure changes all the time. Payouts can be weak. A lot of pressure from upper management. Unrealistic goals.

    Advice to Management

Less micro managing, let people do there jobs. Realistic goal. Customers only need so many accounts and credit cards. Terrible interest rate on products

    Pros

Nothing, this company is awful to work for. The only qualifying thing is the 15 minute breaks.

    Cons

Everything. Higher ups don't know how some employees get away with nothing, while the others who want to work and advance get the shaft.

    Advice to Management

    Lay off the lazy workers.
