I worked at Citrix full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good work life balance
    Great facilities and benefits
    Ideal for female employees

    Cons

Work - If you are the kind of person who wants growth, challenges, recognition and visibility then this is not the place for you. The work is most products are maintenance and subtle feature development, in the name of R&D. You will have no ownership, decision making in the critical areas of the project. Be very particular and gain enough knowledge on what you are getting into. This place is ideal for candidates with 12+ years' experience who want to settle down.
Pace - Very laid back attitude among management. No vision of products and still banking on 10 year old technology.

    Advice to Management

Invest in newer tech and re-invent

free food, transport, internet and all other things you can expect. Not much work pressure as upper management believes in work life balance.

    Cons

No innovation, buy out other smaller company and build on it. kill their own home grown products as they are unable to take any lead forward

    Advice to Management

Be active and believe in yourself to build your own products. Please stop relying on other products. Hire some smart managers as most of them are not even technical to guide smart people under them.

I have been working at Citrix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Exposure to the new technologies.

    Cons

The management sucks here!! The workstyle has changed drastically. It is no more "fun while working at Citrix".
The productivity is now measured or basis of the stats. One de-sat and you will be interrogated intensely. This has made engineers to beg for c-sats. Earlier the engineers's qaulity work was enough to convince the customer to provide a positive feedback.
Learning has come to minimal and the tight schedule adherence is the prime aim.
The employee retention is very minimal. Many engineers had left which were extremely reliable resource and a boon to the company. I don't know if this is being ignored or if they think they can get the resource immediatley. B.S !!!!
Even the growth here is very slow. For a postion people are hired from outside, though there are capable candidates for the same position which is disgusting.

    Advice to Management

Understand what an employee wants. An employee works more when his work is recognised and is paid what he deserves.
Employee retention means something. Work for you company not for yourself !!
