    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Citrix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers, new CEO will hopefully turn things around

    Cons

Poor Communication, they don't always practice what the preach

    Advice to Management

    Be more transparent

    Pros

    - Energy and vision
    - Products
    - Brand recognition
    - A big company with a start-up mentality
    - Great salary
    - Products actually work!
    - Mark Templeton is the CEO, but if you meet him, he will remember you

    Cons

    - No room for growth in career.
    - Center of the Citrix universe is Santa Clara, CA... in order to get promoted you have to move
    - Citrix talks a big game when it comes to "working from anywhere" but the mentality of the Santa Clara crew is... "work from the office" so the work/life balance is a struggle.
    - Acquisitions usually result acquired getting the run of the company for a year therefore making longer standing employees bitter and resentful towards the upper management and newly acquired company.
    - Company is in its awkward teenage years at the moment and suffering the growing pains of going from a less than 5,000 person company to a company that will grow to 10,000 people.
    - They let solid talent walk

    Advice to Management

Location should not matter... talent should! There are other tech areas in this country besides the bay area!

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Great tuition reimbursement, Opportunity for telecommuting, Emphasis on customer satisfaction, Four weeks of PTO, open and transparent communication from upper management

    Cons

Older technologies, weak career advancement, poor product management, unrewarding performance feedback, no validation of objectives with strategic goals, freeze on promotions & increases, no rewards for employee self-improvement and continuous learning, Principle level title hard to achieve

    Advice to Management

When the economy is back on its feet, employees at Citrix will realize that there are very few motivators available to keep them interested in staying at Citrix. If you don't get the career advancement plan worked out soon, many employees may leave for other opportunities and better career and technical growth.
