I worked at Citrix full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are pretty good, medical coverage costs for employees have risen pretty consistently over last 3 years and they have forced most into high-deductible plans with HSA so you may consider this a con or a pro but overall the benefits are pretty good. Some of the new directions are positive and look promising for possible growth.

    Cons

Stock options at Director level and above have dropped significantly and in 2015 they yanked away performance based stocks only to give everyone else in the company a 2% bonus. New management is trying to turn the ship but the rudder still has some issues. Product quality still plagues many of the products - engineering does not know what it means to build a non-IT product for customers that demand stability and reliability.

    Advice to Management

Clean house with your lame ducks in top sales roles and maybe the organization will move forward

I have been working at Citrix full-time

    Pros

Total benefits package is decent. 401k is competitive though just average. Friendships are good though not quite what they used to be. They try to be innovative, but time is usually a constant constraint.

    Cons

While they tout their benefits, they are average compared to the industry. They have cut back dramatically on their training and conference budgets which, while it may look good to the share price, is hurting them in the long-run. It prevents employees from growing and representing Citrix. Citrix used to provide allocated time to discover and experiment with new things, but there is little time for that. And the promotion process is more like a template now where they want you to fit into a mold rather than understand that leaders come in all shapes and types.

    Advice to Management

Allow your people to attend the training and conferences they want; not the ones you want. Give them time to innovate by learning the new things that excite them. Remove some of the bureaucracy for the processes, and let them lead naturally; not because it fits the latest leadership style. And while there may be benefits to some of the programs such Work Anywhere, it is often counterproductive and should be reevaluated since sometimes people can become islands and lose touch.

    Advice to Management

Look at the carecter of the employees not just metrix which are rarely accurate.

Need to weed out those people in management and junior executive leadership that is holding the company back. There are many great things that just aren't exploited.

I worked at Citrix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great work culture at Citrix, I definitely missed this place but at the same time needed something else in my career path, you can set your own success within the company and there is a lot of work flexibility.
Benefits are great and facilities and amenities within help employees to have a good work/life balance

    Cons

Tons of layoffs within the past 12 months due to company restructuring.
    lost of identity and culture

    Advice to Management

Try to keep Citrix culture as much as possible

I worked at Citrix (More than a year)

    Pros

The people are very nice although some can be fake because it is South Florida. They have a nice culture and there are a lot of free snacks and drinks available to the employees.

    Cons

Low pay compared to competitors and the Sales floor is way too young. There needs to be more of a structure rather than people goofing off and acting like it's middle school. The people on the floor including some managers are very immature and act like it's high school when in reality it's a corporate environment. There is too much politics on this floor and upper management should step in to make a change. Also, the Sales department is not allowed to work at home like other departments. I think they should at least be allowed to work at home for one day out of the week. Upper management needs to listen to the complaints and fix everything. At this rate, more employees will just keep leaving.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to who you hire. Not everyone is meant to work in a corporate environment. Tone down the politics and promote based on who will do the job well rather than who you like. Listen to your employees and make a change for the better.

    Pros

The culture is good and different from corporate America. The ability to work from anywhere anytime is a plus. Management is understanding

    Cons

No room for growth in my department. We use to have team outings but that has since decreased. At times you do not feel appreciated

I have been working at Citrix full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The NHT program is a great opportunity to get a dedicated year of Virtualization training. No other company offers such a comprehensive training program that will position you for success so quickly. The NHT program also allows for a nice balance of shadowing real consulting projects, receiving hands on training from field experts, and certification exams.

    Cons

Sometimes it can feel like jumping through hoops but more junior management has been working hard to revamp the program.

    Advice to Management

It is very clear that a page has been turned and that a new era for the program has been ushered in. Keep acting on the feedback and emphasizing analyst led initiatives.
