I worked at Citrix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - A company culture is reflective of its leaders belief and while I was at Citrix, Mark Templeton was the CEO and the efforts were aimed at creating a culture that is inclusive, transparent and vibrant. It is not to say, it is any different now but I just didn't work under the new CEO.

    - Great employee perks

    - Work/Life balance

    - Flexible work hours and work location; lived by "Work anywhere" mantra and enabled employees to follow it

    Cons

    - Like many companies. Citrix also had mid-management problems.
    - There was a problem with the vision of what Citrix needed to be for next 10-20 years but I think now this is solved with letting GTM part of the company go

I have been working at Citrix (More than a year)

    Pros

I have worked in bad companies in the past and I can attest that Citrix is easily one of the best company in the world. Pays very well, Company goes to extra mile to ensure you are accommodated and taken care off. Of course a lot depends on your manager and all of my managers have been nothing but exemplary. Another aspect of the company that impressed me the most is the investment in your growth. If you have the drive, Citrix will help you excel. On top of that they are not cheap, great phone benefits, travel benefits and school tuition assistance to name a few.

    Cons

So far I did not find anything bad about this company. If I am stretched I would say may be lack of assigned space to employees in fort lauderdale 4th floor, but thats just me. A lot of employees like the open office space.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what ever you are doing. Great products, great management style and keep excelling.

I worked at Citrix (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The work culture is fantastic. There were lots of perks while working at the main campus. The work from home policy was also very flexible.

    Cons

The upper and middle management had several major instances of reorganization. This shifted around managers that actually cared about their employees to those that didn't. There are many people who are able to brown nose their way to higher positions and its pretty evident that they did not get there based on merit.

    Advice to Management

This company has made many mistakes over the past few years. It seems like there is a lot of damage control occurring in order to repair previous issues. I would greatly work on your current staff instead of relying on layoffs. You invest so much into your employees only to waste it and throw it away when its convenient for you.

I worked at Citrix full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Free snacks/drinks, discounted cafeteria. Citrix product training and other coursework available internally.

Pay appears statistically calculated. Find the right calculator, and Citrix offers/moves salaries near its 50% mark.

    Cons

Used to mandate employees take at least a week of training. Now career growth expected to be completed on your own time.

Colleagues who changed positions internally felt like management saw this as a failure rather than something to be celebrated.

Expect to spend long hours working with development teams abroad.

May be extremely proactive enforcing NDAs to the point someone's new employer panicked, even though there was no known conflict of interest.

    Advice to Management

Encourage internal skills development and transfers. Employees should not have to leave their departments to avoid being stagnant and grow in their careers.
