I have been working at Citrix full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

HUGE opportunity for career advancements if you are extroverted and hard working. Promotions at Citrix are earned by solving problems outside if your JD. Building relationships with people outside of your team are essential for gaining the recognition you need for advancement and management roles.

    Cons

Not a good environment for people wanting positive recognition for task work. Treating Citrix as a 9/5 job, will not lead to much growth. However, there is good work/life balance for those with the skills to telecommute and manage time.

    Advice to Management

If you have high performing introverted/quiet employees, make sure they are happy before they leave. I've seen lots of talent walk from this company because they feel left behind or uninvited.

I worked at Citrix full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Products are awesome though often niche
    - Move to cloud services seems managed
    - One of the few strong large tech companies in Florida

    Cons

    - Blind to competition strength
    - Beholden to activist investors which has destroyed employee morale and led to poor short term decisions
    - Marketing message is soft and too concerned about how it will be perceived if there is any aggressive stance taken.

    Advice to Management

At some point a long term vision and a willingness to take some risk has to supersede the needs of investors who want a return today at the cost of the company. The loss of identity and culture due to Elliot's interference will long term hurt the organization

I have been working at Citrix full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great co-worker environment, great benefits. Friendly workplace.

    Cons

Lots of policies. Managers want to control you every minute. Products with poor documentation that make you figure out a way to solve customer's issues. High division between front line team and escalation team that makes almost impossible to escalate a case. Managers never listen to engineer recommendations. You have almost no time to solve your old cases, for Manager team the most important is you to be on the phone. This is almost a high-risk company every year you will be waiting for at least a massive layout

I worked at Citrix full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The only pro I can think of is my manager, when I started at Citrix I had never met someone like him who truly cared about the people he worked with. When my time at Citrix came to an end he helped me find another job.

The amenities at the facility were also nice.

    Cons

Although I was only in a lead gen role, Citrix is a "fully grown" company operating in a saturated market and has essentially completely figured out internal processes. A sales role here is simply about calling and nothing else, Citrix has created a team of robots that simply follow along. If you are the kind of person who appreciates making an impactful change and really making a difference this is not the place to be.

I have been working at Citrix full-time

    Pros

Things are changing and, of course, with change can come opportunity.

    Cons

Change also can be ugly. It is difficult understanding if you are on the same page with upper management and the actual product has become much more difficult to sell.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Be more competitive with base pay, compared to other employers, and do more to keep/grow talent within.
