I have been working at Citrix (More than a year)

    Pros

I have worked in bad companies in the past and I can attest that Citrix is easily one of the best company in the world. Pays very well, Company goes to extra mile to ensure you are accommodated and taken care off. Of course a lot depends on your manager and all of my managers have been nothing but exemplary. Another aspect of the company that impressed me the most is the investment in your growth. If you have the drive, Citrix will help you excel. On top of that they are not cheap, great phone benefits, travel benefits and school tuition assistance to name a few.

    Cons

So far I did not find anything bad about this company. If I am stretched I would say may be lack of assigned space to employees in fort lauderdale 4th floor, but thats just me. A lot of employees like the open office space.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what ever you are doing. Great products, great management style and keep excelling.

I have been working at Citrix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Citrix has a great community where the focus is on teamwork and collaboration. Promotions are generally done on merit, and the work environment is minimally political. Citrix has a broad product portfolio that allows for the building of a wide range of skillsets.

    Cons

Some layoffs and restructuring every 1-2 years. These can be a source of uncertainty, and cuts are sometimes made too deep,

    Advice to Management

Continue to drive long-term growth and aggressively push towards emerging markets where a strategic path exists. Reinforce core technologies and support so as to maintain dominance in EUC.

I have been working at Citrix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Benefits
    - Location
    - Some departments have strong guidance regarding career paths

    Cons

    - Some departments are a career traps with no growth
    - Some departments have very strong office politics issue
    - Some departments have a hard time retaining talent

    Advice to Management

Take care of you people. If they are valuable acknowledge them with words and efforts and growing them. I have many talented people leave Citrix for "better" opportunists and each time the last thing they hear is ".. we see you as a valuable Citrite." Typically it's the first time they ever heard anyone within their own department say it to them.

I have been working at Citrix full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Relaxed atmosphere, great benefits, employee stock purchase program, 401k matching, full medical and dental insurance

    Cons

I've been working here for almost 1 year and I'm still assigned to the parking lot that is 3 blocks away, while people who were hired only a few months ago are assigned to the parking deck adjacent to the building.

I have been working at Citrix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to learn, free snacks, great co-workers

    Cons

Work-life balance in support organization is not great as there is a usually too many things to get done.

    Advice to Management

Work with your employees as much as you can to make sure they are balanced in their work and personal time. The majority of the employees want to learn and do well and get everything done but the fact is that the workload can be quite heavy and it is easy to become overwhelmed which leads to burnout.

Relaxed and welcoming. I felt like everyone was really easy to work with. Pay was good.

    Cons

I don't think there were any cons. Santa Barbara can be boring.

I have been working at Citrix full-time

    Pros

Decent salary and perks. Amazing Paid time off policy. You get 4 weeks for a new hire. After 5 years in the company, one more is added. We have 4 months of maternity/ paternity leave ( fully paid ). Kitchen is stocked with healthy snacks. Free bagels every Friday.

Citrix really encourages to switch roles and teams within the company which is very healthy for career growth.

    Cons

As I said in the summary, it really depends on the team that you join. There are some teams still grappling with legacy code, without any inclination to address the tech debt and hiring new developers with low standards.

Promotions are not always fair. Some of the managers are neither technical nor good leaders. Not sure how they ended up in that role.
