I have been working at Citrix (More than a year)

    Pros

I have worked in bad companies in the past and I can attest that Citrix is easily one of the best company in the world. Pays very well, Company goes to extra mile to ensure you are accommodated and taken care off. Of course a lot depends on your manager and all of my managers have been nothing but exemplary. Another aspect of the company that impressed me the most is the investment in your growth. If you have the drive, Citrix will help you excel. On top of that they are not cheap, great phone benefits, travel benefits and school tuition assistance to name a few.

    Cons

So far I did not find anything bad about this company. If I am stretched I would say may be lack of assigned space to employees in fort lauderdale 4th floor, but thats just me. A lot of employees like the open office space.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what ever you are doing. Great products, great management style and keep excelling.

I have been working at Citrix full-time

    Pros

good benefits, good company outlook and plan, opportunities for work in lots of different areas

    Cons

flat orgs, not challenging, not a clear career path, some silos

    Advice to Management

create more opportunities for cross functional training and for employees to network to understand growth opportunities. better mentor programs would be nice to create a clear career plan.

I have been working at Citrix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Competitive base pay with what was originally uncapped commission but that ended quickly after my arrival, focused on training the new staff quickly and efficiently, for the most part good culture.

    Cons

They tried to hard to promote diversity and I feel it some what backfired on them from what I saw, they do not inform employee's when a change is coming they just make the change and hope everyone adapts.

    Advice to Management

Don't act to cocky with the new employee's and try to focus more on the bigger picture.

    Cons

Lots of change in recent years can create a sense of uneasiness amongst employees. Pay could be higher for the industry.

I have been working at Citrix full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great work flexibility.
Technically the products are the best in the market ( but the company's ability to sell and market the products is a distinct second to their major competitors VMWare and F5, who are massively outmaneuvering them)
    Fairly good comp. and benefits.

    Cons

Aging portfolio of products - Citrix is largely focused on Desktop / App virtualization as it has for the last 28 years. This market has slowed, and VMWare is really leading it. Unless Citrix truly innovates, then its going to die slowly. Transition to Cloud does not increase its potential market, its just a change in delivery mechanism!
Citrix needs to truly invest in a new market segment, which is unlikely with an activist investor on the board focused on the stock value.
HR is poor and policies are inconsistency applied. Too many folk are fired with no reason or explanation(per 'at-will' employment). The processes and procedures are a thin veneer.
A series of substantial layoffs have killed employee confidence and loyalty (2000 people, then another 850 only a couple of months after the CEO had said there would not be more layoffs!!)
There is continual churn through the executive levels, including the CEO. This leads to inconsistent strategy and a failure to execute. David Henshall is probably the optimal CEO in terms of stabilizing the company, and is very competent, but it remains to be seen if he can really inspire the company.

    Advice to Management

Align on a clear strategy and move into new markets. The cloud transition message will only motivate the troops for so long.
Refine HR processes and apply them fairly - "values" statements need to be more than posters throughout the building. Citrix was known for having a great culture, but its apparent that this was more of a thing from the past.

I have been working at Citrix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Citrix just increased its parental benefits to 18 weeks paid which is the best parental policy outside silicon valley. They believe in a growth mindset and have restructured the way they measure performance to reflect that.

Plus they were just made the list of best places to work.

Personally I think these things put Citrix at the top of the list and I'm happy to work here.

    Cons

There are always areas for improvement at a company and Citrix is no exception. The company is still working on being proactive and accountable in certain areas and this is a challenge that is currently being addressed

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing boundaries, increasing accountability and cultivating a growth mindset within the culture and you can't go wrong.
