I worked at Citrix full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great technology to help you work from wherever you want. Technical resources are available for you 24/7.
There is a very diverse culture, and they have many resources available for you as an employee to grow including online courses as well as options for you to continue or extend education.

    Cons

The company is going through a lot of change right now. The change is good, but because of the market Citrix making a shift within their business so there is a lot happening.
Because of the technology allows you to work all the time from wherever/whatever, it does make it challenging to not spend all of your time working, because there’s always work to be done.

    I worked at Citrix full-time

    Pros

People are collegial and friendly, generally don't find backstabbers. Free drinks, good parties during Citrix Summits

    Cons

It's like the TV Show Survivor - during my time there, I saw two or more lower performing product teams merge with the stronger product teams. Not pretty.

    Advice to Management

Keep managing the costs and margins, it's been a great stock since I left.

I have been working at Citrix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Citrix just increased its parental benefits to 18 weeks paid which is the best parental policy outside silicon valley. They believe in a growth mindset and have restructured the way they measure performance to reflect that.

Plus they were just made the list of best places to work.

Personally I think these things put Citrix at the top of the list and I'm happy to work here.

    Cons

There are always areas for improvement at a company and Citrix is no exception. The company is still working on being proactive and accountable in certain areas and this is a challenge that is currently being addressed

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing boundaries, increasing accountability and cultivating a growth mindset within the culture and you can't go wrong.

    Pros

Great work life balance as there will not be much work as You will spend 90% of your time in bug fixes.
Good low compensation which will keep you to find next job pretty soon.

    Cons

    Nothing much going on.
After working with Citrix your technical skills are not part with industry.
Works only on Microsoft technologies except Netscaler. So it will be hard to find jobs if laid off. Lol.

    Advice to Management

    David hanshell. You really suck.

I worked at Citrix full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Citrix is a venerable company with a long and storied history. They have a breadth of technology and offices around the world. They bring in over $2B annually and have a large and established customer base.

    Cons

Citrix is currently dealing with an activist investor - Elliott Capitol. Since their joining the board in late 2014 or early 2015 the company has removed Mark Templeton the company's long standing CEO and made numerous structural changes and reorganizations. It appears that they are trying to make themselves appear "lean and mean" in attempt to sell the company (some speculate to Microsoft). They have stopped investing in some of their most valuable and innovative proprietary software.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on improving quality. Stop treating employees as if they were stupid and start treating them the way you would want to be treated if you were in the "rank and file." I like David Henshall but suspect he's only been made CEO because they anticipate selling the company as soon as possible.

I have been working at Citrix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There has been multiple layoffs so office has plenty of spaces. They let you choose to use a mac or a pc. Another good thing is flexible working hour/WFH is aligned with company's mission.

    Cons

People are hard to work with. Many are manipulative and make you feel guilty and insignificant. Pay is good but unfair. Some people get by without doing much. It further makes you feel you are not getting valued for your contributions. There are many mindless meetings with personal comments and attacks.

    Advice to Management

    - Sometimes experience is just a number. It is what an employee has done that counts.
    - Even with recent layoffs, I still think Citrix has been good to the employees. Keep it up.
