I have been working at Citrix full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Check clears Could have a decent work life balance, if you do not want to advance career-wise Lots of good and smart people to work

    Cons

Very sales orientated company; engineering is not important to them. The goals has to be aligned in a way with the Sales goals, so there is very little effort to create quality product Lots of middle management and meetings, need to set goals based on upper management's expectations (which can be unreasonable sometimes). Very difficult to figure out who to contact to get things done from within the company (someone has not gotten a company-issued laptop and has been almost 2 years with them) Hard to advance career and salary-wise unless you want to disrupt work-life balance. Whatever salary you got in as, don't expect it to go much higher. Benefits and compensation package is weaker compare to other software companies in same field (you have to pay for your meals and drinks at company hosted outings)

I have been working at Citrix full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good work life balance. Depending on your skill set opportunities abound. Patience is the key to your success in this evolving organization.

    Cons

Double standards can get in the way. Don't get too comfortable. Middle management often gets bogged down quantifying meaningless garbage b

    "Falling Off"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at Citrix full-time

    Pros

ShareFile has a very energetic and great work environment because the office is amazing.

    Cons

The company has fallen off from being a start up to now a corporate entity. Ridiculous quotas with no job security. Middle management lacking experience. Compensation is below industry average. They do a terrible job planning for the future.

I have been working at Citrix full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Direct management has been stellar, and peers and support teams are generally great as well. Compensation is in line with the industry, though not as much as with a Cisco or Microsoft.

    Cons

Lack of short term org stability. Numerous reorgs, consultants, and leadership changes on top of a large split announced this year. With so much in motion it feels as if the long term vision may be there (or may not, but a different story) while critical elements are slipping through the cracks right now. Additionally, there is currently no mechanism in place to evaluate your manager or management team. This would be beneficial to both senior leadership, middle management, as well as individual contributors and junior managers.

I worked at Citrix full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Solid technology that has mostly lead its space for some time. Tons of opportunity for internal career growth although that very same benefit has hurt the company as many unqualified inside reps were promoted to the field that weren't ready.

    Cons

instability from top down has customers considering other companies to do business with. Way too much middle management that acts as data collectors rather than mentors. Less than average pay in comparison to other companies in same space.

    Pros

Good place to learn about virtualization and operating systems.

    Cons

Terrible middle management. They think that by rearranging the decks on the Titanic will help them avoid the iceberg. In other words, they have the firm believe that employees exist solely for them to throw under the bus. Also, only lazy politicians are rewarded and promoted.

I worked at Citrix for more than a year

    Pros

    Decent salary for south Florida.

    Cons

Incompetent middle management put in place by cronyism. If upper management doesn't fully clean house, company will continue in its current downward spiral.

I worked at Citrix full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - Very good employee benefits - Great office location and amenities - Compensation average for Florida market, but below national averages. - Good products, especially Citrix Online and Netscaler

    Cons

    - Poorly managed company - Middle Management (Managers, Senior Managers, Group Managers, Directors, Sr Directors) is very deficient. Not a lot of talent, abuse of internal promotions (people that started with the company 15+ years ago) that reward friendships and loyalties rather than talent and results. - Favoritism in promotions and salary raises that mines morale and sends the wrong message to employees. - Company has got used to the opposite of lean operations, inflated budgets, demands for increased head count with no clear deliverables, etc. - Very political environment - Directors rarely provide direction to employees (the whole reason they are there IMHO)
