I have been working at Citrix full-time

    Pros

Flexible/remote work. Not a very political organization. Best ideas typically win, entrepreneurship is encouraged. Really great colleagues - smart, hard working, motivated. Fantastic growth opportunities. Decently competitive pay.

    Cons

Flexible work style can promote a 'work always' culture - late night emails, weekend work, etc. Poor diversity, pretty heavily male. Upper management can be egotistical and a 'boys club'. Not the most compelling company mission, just another enterprise software company.

    Advice to Management

Improve diversity, coach upper management on empathy, reverse the 'always-on' work culture.

I worked at Citrix full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Truly excellent products. Ahead of the pack.

    Cons

A fairly major technology company like Citrix with an HQ located in a resort area seemed to create dysfunction and anxiety since there are no other similar career options nearby, and no cross-pollination with other, better companies. I have reason to believe our department was particularly dysfunctional, so you r mileage may vary. But those in upper management appeared not to plan or coordinate with other... groups on anything meaningful, and there was this weird submissiveness/drop-everything-the-boss-is-calling attitude I found bizarre, counterproductive and demeaning. Then I realized there was no advance planning or true leadership. The expectation of executing the boss' /boss' last-second plans was always on the underlings, so everyone hovered over email constantly for fear that they would take an hour (**eek**) to answer an email. How does anyone get anything strategic done? They don't. If a 20 minute delta on execution will make the difference between success and failure of a plan, the plan was doomed from the start. No one seemed to understand the basics of how the company works, but everyone wants to leap all over the person that says ,"Time out, does anybody understand this?" It's a game of throwing the other guy under the bus so your own ignorance isn't revealed. Lovely, inspiring environment to work in.

    Advice to Management

Manage, lead, please. Try to see the bigger picture, and have the courage to discuss information your boss needs to know to make better decisions. If you're so scared you can't manage up a little, you can quit and have some self-respect. Or stay, and you'll fit right in.

I have been working at Citrix full-time

    Pros

Free snacks and stocked kitchen, good culture, nice building.

    Cons

    - It’s not about what you know or how well you perform, but more about who likes you in upper management. Very political and corporate atmosphere. - Career advancement rarely exists even for those who consistently exceed expectations. Path to promotion is very unclear and misleading. - Pay grade is not even in the ballpark of the industry standard. - Focused too heavily on irrelevant metrics. - High turnover of... employees.

    Advice to Management

Deviate from the typical corporate structure and stop being industry laggards. Implement new and modern techniques for success. Reward hard work and make a realistic path to promotion.

I have been working at Citrix full-time

    Pros

Things are changing and, of course, with change can come opportunity.

    Cons

Change also can be ugly. It is difficult understanding if you are on the same page with upper management and the actual product has become much more difficult to sell.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Be more competitive with base pay, compared to other employers, and do more to keep/grow talent within.

I worked at Citrix full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

This used to be a great role, but in 2016-2017 everyone started seeing the place crumble. The creator of ShareFile left the company, managers were dropping like flies, resulting in ShareFile becoming a downward spiral. Avoid working here at all costs, no job security, terrible culture, no work life balance.

    Cons

Many people in upper management don’t even have sales experience, so it feels as if the person trying to help you does not even really know how to help. All senior managers are liars and they trick people into getting what they want.

    Advice to Management

Honesty there’s too much to type. Stop lying and actually employ people that will help others grow.

I have been working at Citrix full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great bluechip name, incredibly nice office in the heart of downtown, exceptional benefits, and 401K package. If your getting introduced into the world of sales and want a tall challenge, you will find it here and find it rewarding.

    Cons

Decline in cultural values and job happiness since the movement of upper management occurred

I worked at Citrix full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Awesome amenities and benefits, pay WAS good

    Cons

Once Citrix merger with ShareFile was complete the culture was destroyed and most employees were miserable. A lot of shady things started going on and some upper management even got fired

    Advice to Management

Take your job more seriously, glorified cheerleaders don't grow businesses
