    Pros

ability to advance in short period of time

    Cons

incentive rewards program is a joke. they place the goals way to high and then hold staff accountable for failed expectations. Leadership has no real experience,so at times they seem desperate. will work the hell out of you and pay you less with the promise of incentive.

    Advice to Management

hire professionals to create incentive programs. not these self read business flakes.

I worked at City National Bank & Trust full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Every year you get 80 hours Of Vacation Time you also meet some great friends along the way in you get the opportunity to advance and move up in the company

    Cons

Prospecting to "bring in the business" is Complete Bs A company shouldn't force there employees to do something there not comfortable doing. They say it's to get you out of your comfort zone but it doesn't. There hours are extremely ridiculous especially if you have a family at home. And working on Saturdays until 4 PM just to be different it's absolutely ridiculous. Management is a joke they're just kids who have no idea what there doing there seem so stressed that I feel stressed

    Advice to Management

Make your work hours more convenient and reasonable for your employees and stop being so cheap in pay them more in broadcast your own bank in quit torturing your employees by making them prospect

I have been working at City National Bank & Trust full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Senior management is willing to let their branch managers run their business. Managers are given the ability to improve their markets as they see fit. This a lot of the time gives managers the ability to improve local employees and promote from within. Benefits are really great and they contribute your retirement plan. If you don't mind living in Lawton advancement opportunities exist inside the JRMB (Parent Company) and Fort Sill National Bank (Sister Company). Training opportunities are abundant.

    Cons

Pay is on the extreme lower end of the spectrum. Though bonus opportunities exist, its an all or nothing "Team Selling" mind set. This is a "fee income" based growth structure. Your key product is Overdraft Protection which you are marketing to a low and middle income demographic. Turn over is high- retention is a constant struggle.

    Advice to Management

Pay will always be the big factor in retention decisions. When a move to competitor can net a $10k-15k/yr jump in pay for managers its tough to keep people. Bonus structure is a needs to be more attainable but still promote growth. Create promotion and lateral career opportunities in your other markets. Talent often leaves in order to grow their banking careers because a move to lawton is not possible.

I worked at City National Bank & Trust full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great product, Treats customers wells. Gives their customers a second chance at banking. The branches inside of Walmart as well as the later hours can be a great convenience for their customers.

    Cons

This is a sales based banking position.
The turnover in employment explains it all.
If you want to roam around a Walmart and stop every living stranger and beg them to open a bank account you will love it here.
You are just another number to the higher management.
Miscommunications between branches and all departments are frequent.
    Mid 80's technology.
Very late hours, The scheduling is often horrendous.
If you want to become a banker and not have a life this is the bank for you!

    Advice to Management

Drug test your employees, Give your employees chairs!

I worked at City National Bank & Trust full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Full time 40 hours with minor overtime. Bonus paid for finding new business in the form of new checking, savings accounts, loans of all types. Daytime hours. Holiday Pay for 12 federal holidays. Very good benefits including generous 401k, insurance of all types, vacation. There are advancement opportunities but they are based on achieving high numbers of new account openings.

    Cons

Low hourly pay of $10 per hour to start. It is very difficult to find people needing a bank account while strolling the aisles of a busy discount store. Bonus is earned by getting people to open a new checking account. Minimum 10 required per month or you are not paid any bonus earned. Also paid bonus for other bank products if you get 10 checking accounts open. One month, I managed to get 9 new checking accounts, 7 new savings accounts and a 200k home mortgage. The mortgage would have paid a very good bonus but since I was one under the quota of checking accounts opened in the month, I received no bonus.

I have been working at City National Bank & Trust full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The company and employee culture at City National Bank & Trust is one that is very inviting, respectful and nurturing. They have chosen excellent leaders to promote and mentor employees. As a returning employee and spending 7 1/2 years with this company, it still remains the one place I cannot ever imagine leaving. This is an organization that cares about their community through continued involvement and volunteering year after year. Not a day goes by that I don't come in and leave with a smile and a grateful attitude.

    Cons

Branches are not closed on all the federal holidays.
