I have been working at City National Bank of Florida full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Salary is good compared to the South Florida average. Benefits are great. Good team work environment.

    Cons

As a growing business there are many areas were the workload is large and the resources are not enough. However I foresee this will improve.

    Advice to Management

Continue listening to the employees, they are the engine.

I have been working at City National Bank of Florida full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

There are a few bank sponsored events in a year (e.g. holiday party, picnick) that could be considered a perk

    Cons

Everything is treated as an emergency with no prioritization on anything. Resource levels are scarce, every work area is significantly under staffed. There is no real vacation time, you are expected to work, even on your time off. There is no recognition for any hard work or employee dedication. There is zero support from Upper Management, as they are only concerned with how to throw their team under the bus for problems...

I worked at City National Bank of Florida full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Nothing to say other than the they have activities outside the bank like Corporate Run participation and annual employee appreciation picnic. The Christmas party in 2018 was at a warehouse (Soho Studios) and hired exotic dancers (like strippers), which I thought was inappropriate for a company event.

    Cons

The bank is having an identity crisis, the new parent company from Chile (BCI) is transferring employees from Chile to become the head of several departments, the problem with that is that they don’t have experience working with the banking system in the United States and have no clue how to navigate through the several complex regulations. Lots of employees have left the bank and the employee morale is really low....

    Advice to Management

Provide fair treatment to employees and provide training with leadership skills (like an MBA program) to the employees being transferred from Chile) as well English classes in order to feel more comfortable with the English language.

    Pros

None, if you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything.....

    Cons

If your not in the inner circle of tremendous nepotism you are expandable.

I worked at City National Bank of Florida full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

The bank has some strong leaders and is not 100% focused on goals as much as activities. Good benefits, good culture and strong name. The Executive team is experienced and has grown with the bank.

    Cons

The bank is having and identity crisis between its strong Miami roots and it new parent companies culture. The technology needs to be revamped. Sometimes the banks focus shifts so fast that it negatively impacts current issues your working on.

    Advice to Management

Focus on what is in front of you and not 5 to 10 years ahead. Please also realize that quick, rash decisions have future impacts.

I worked at City National Bank of Florida

    Pros

Benefits are cheap! Thats the only pro

    Cons

Terrible management.. starting by the CEO. He is fake and does not care of the people under his direct reports. Upper management follows the main clown and treat their people like if they are monkeys.

    Advice to Management

Learn from Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, Jeff Bezos as they treat their employees like their most important asset. They make work pleasant and continue to improve the work / life balance. The industrial revolution started around the same time that bank did and it does not mean you have to continue to follow the same philosophies. Your people are your most precious value. Laying off your most loyal and committed employees...

I have been working at City National Bank of Florida full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Company recognition when doing something right.

    Cons

Individual sales goals are so high that are unrealistic.

    Advice to Management

Lower the quarterly sales goals otherwise people will continue to resign and leave to other banks where the pressure is less.

I worked at City National Bank of Florida full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

The people are generally pleasant to work with. Exposure to a wide array of credit products is a plus and helps with the experience. Health benefits are best or close to best in the workplace.

    Cons

Working in a Small Business Banker or Business Market Leader role has you tied to a branch. Zero work-life balance, even less for the Small Business Banker as your relied on to physically open and close, as the branch is dependent on both these roles to function on a daily basis. Extremely high and unrealistic quarterly and annual goals when considering the pay. This creates a high pressure, what have you done for me...

I have been working at City National Bank of Florida full-time

    Pros

Unfortunately I can not think of any pros other than salary was in line with market.

    Cons

Senior leadership in Orlando needs to be overhauled. Unrealistic goals, corporate in Miami has pretty much written off the two Orlando offices as well as Tampa locations.

    Advice to Management

CEO and other key executive need to make trips to visit these offices; Orlando area executive needs to be changed as turnover continues to increase at both offices due to his regime and style. Several key bank officers have left due to this.
