    Pros

    Corpus Christi has a lot of good people providing services to a large geographic area, and with a modest average income level of taxpayers.

    Cons

    The TMRS pension plan is lower than most other Texas cities. Match is 6% 2 to 1, rather than 7% 2 to 1.

    Advice to Management

    Provide strong leadership and support your staff. The City Council as of 2017 appears to be focusing on reducing revenues and stripping benefits from employees.

    Retirement program, free continued education/training programs offered by the city

    Chaos, disorganized, no cohesivenes, communication, or camaraderie amongst departments. -A lot of work unnecessarily duplicated.

    Trust that your employees will make the right decisions. You hired them based on their skill. Stop micro managing.

    Once the new interim city attorney took over, everything went south.

    Don't change the status quo. If it works, don't try to change it for publicity's sake.
