I worked at City of Amarillo, Texas full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Retire in 10 yrs. Paid holidays. Tmrs match.

    Cons

Not worth fast food pay to be prostituted out. Advise wearing a body cam since HR is more worried about covering up white boys club. Thats why Amarillo is still considered violent rascist town. Rest of employers follow their lead and sexual violence is rarely reported because the victims are blacklisted in this town. The only remedy is to move or suffer permanently.

    Advice to Management

If an employee tells you NO, leave them the hell alone. Quit harassing them, quit making up stories, quit acting like Trump. Just because you're all white doesnt mean you have the right to extort & blackmail minority female employees.

    Pros

Great atmosphere if you like no low drama and don't mind a bunch of guys that tell jokes. Pretty laid back for most part but very serious about their job. Loved working here.

    Cons

Not great pay and benefits could be better.

I worked at City of Amarillo, Texas full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Sense of community, short commute, quick hiring process

    Cons

No room for upper movement, insane amounts of overtime depending on department, scheduling is a nightmare

    Advice to Management

Don't ask your employees to break HIPAA laws. Don't threaten your employees with police action over attendance issues. Learn to schedule effectively. If you don't see yourself doing the work your employees are doing, you shouldn't be a manager.

I worked at City of Amarillo, Texas full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good people. Military jets come and go.

    Cons

Under paid and unorganized. Equipment and tools are either missing or broken, replacing the tools and equipment we needed to maintain the airport and it's airfield was not a priority to the administration.
