    One issue is that it is really hard to transfer to another position, because people do not leave.

    PTO, holidays, fairly new equipment

    Cons

    Having to work with people that were hired because of a quota, ie.. lazy, ex felons, very low intrest in working, they just hire to have bodies in the positions with very little experience in their field if any at all!

    I worked at City of Charlotte full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Leadership sets a good, public-service oriented vision for the organization. Follow-through by departments, divisions, and individuals varies significantly. Good work-life balance. Employees generally seem valued by management (I'm sure this varies by supervisor).

    Cons

    Some ivory-tower syndrome which may be inevitable in a large, bureaucratic organization. Sometimes spending too much time on visioning, studies, consultants ($$$), and less time actually impacting peoples' lives for the better.
