    I worked at City of College Station Texas full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Work/Life balance works well if you are working on Masters as well. Asset Manager is supportive of new ideas and technology. Work with administration, field crews, and engineers weekly. Able to use other technology besides ArcGIS such as Cityworks (asset management system), PAVER software, and Trimble GPS. Able to develop work plan with help from Asset Manager.

    Cons

    Career Advancement takes awhile to move up.

    All upper management personal I had communication with always had something negative to say about every other city. At one point my immediate supervisor violated privacy policies and shared unnecessary information of another employee with me...

    Pros

    Customers can be nice sometimes. Employees can be nice sometimes. Building is nice. Desks are nice. The front part of the office is nice.

    Cons

    The salary is not worth the work that one does. It's stressful and they don't care about personal problems you have going on.

    Pros

    Easy job, limited supervision, but management was easy to reach in case something happened during city sporting events. Management is nice and easy to work with.

    Cons

    The hours can be long and they only pay minimum wage. Also, some task are very repetitive.
