    Positive Outlook

I worked at City of College Station Texas part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy job, limited supervision, but management was easy to reach in case something happened during city sporting events. Management is nice and easy to work with.

    Cons

The hours can be long and they only pay minimum wage. Also, some task are very repetitive.

    Advice to Management

Let students do homework more often rather than sitting in an office doing nothing.

I have been working at City of College Station Texas full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits good retirement good schedule good people in other departments to make friends with holidays off

    Cons

Management in my department does not hold themselves accountable for any mistakes they make but holds those under them accountable for everything even if they didn't do it. Its a "do as I say not as I do" environment no team work just every man for himself. Training does not start until a mistake is made then your in trouble and will here about it for the next 6 weeks. Management just all out sucks and does not care about the people under them.

    Advice to Management

Treat people with respect, train your people don't expect them to know everything, be accountable for your own actions, don't make your guys feel stupid when they ask questions, listen to what we have to say, dont tell us to do one thing 50 different ways and expect it to be perfect, be consistent on how things are done don't change it every 5 minutes that's how things get messed up, take care of your guys and they will take care of you. happy employee's do good work, good work makes everyone happy

    Negative Outlook

I worked at City of College Station Texas full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very strong, supportive community to work for. Excellent benefits from the city and there are always new cars to drive. Awesome fitness incentives that pay out in December, which act as a bonus.

    Cons

The pay is average, but who signs up to be a cop for the pay? The administration can be difficult to work for and is not very transparent in their decision making process. The specialized unites are minimal and very small. The narcotics unit is only 2 officers and there is no K9 unit. Very basic and bland police department.
