I worked at City of Culver City full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Loved teaching swimming lessons to little children- it was extremely rewarding and fun. Being able to work outdoors and swimming all the time is always a plus. Wouldn't have traded the experience for anything else.

    Cons

Was put in extremely high-stress situations and was not rewarded monetarily for that kind of responsibility. Management was not always supportive. Physically draining and ruined my hair, skin and nails from being in the sun 8+ hours a day. Not to mention chlorine as well.

    Advice to Management

Should not ever under staff when it comes do dealing with people's lives. Provide more breaks and sunscreen to employees.

I worked at City of Culver City full-time

    Pros

Pros are its a great place to work and everyone you work with is cool to work with. Makes it easy.

    Cons

This job doesn't really present to many cons but i would say it is really hard to move up here.

    Advice to Management

I don't really have any advice for management because it's a city and hands are tied to help people move up the ranks.

I have been working at City of Culver City part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Coworkers are nice. Good pay.

    Cons

Don't know if you have a day off until the afternoon before. Work up to 13 days without a day off. 5 hour splits.

    Advice to Management

Don't overwork (burn out) your part-time drivers because whey they finally become full time and pass probation they wont start calling off. Work part-time drivers part time, then they'll love to come to work when full time.

I have been working at City of Culver City full-time

    Pros

Nice environment. Most employees are pretty nice. Starting to invest in employee development through computer software training courses. Very responsive to public concerns.

    Cons

Cutbacks are starting to stretch staff to functional limits.
