I worked at City of Edmonton part-time

    Pros

Mill Woods had an amazing Aquatics Programmer, the head lifeguard is very welcoming. The work can be time consuming if you're not organized, but great staff to work with, and I really loved my work family.

    Cons

There is a chance you might have an overbearing Aquatics Programmer, but there are always more than one pool near a community.

Supervisors need to give more freedom

    Cons

Very slow and boring at times

    Advice to Management

    Maybe a little less micromanagement.

    Pros

The benefits and EDO are awesome making a great work life balance. Health coverage is really good and defined benefit pension plan.

    Cons

Big organisation with lots of fingers in the pie. Therefore it can be difficult to do things at times. If you're a person that likes to get things done you can generally do well here though.

I have been working at City of Edmonton full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people, great leaders, fast pace! So much learning, so much to improve and do! Such a positive place to work in.

    Cons

I wish we got parking at discount and switch from Blue Cross Benefits, otherwise nothing to complain about

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing great work!

    Pros

Great experience for engineering students looking to learn about the industry. Work with good people. Laboratory is top notch.

    Cons

Not many, probably just how bureaucratic it can be.

I have been working at City of Edmonton part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a unionized organization if you are interested in more security and equality. The people are all so friendly and easy to get along with.

    Cons

Since it is a unionized organization, there is a cap to the amount of salary you can make regardless of how long you've worked for the company. But that is something out of their control since it's unionized.

    Advice to Management

All of the managers that I had to work with so far have been amazing to keep it up. Only main advice I can give is to not fix something, if it's not broken. I get making a few changes here and there is necessary, but on a monthly (sometimes weekly) basis is a bit much.

I have been working at City of Edmonton full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I love where I work, I love the people, pay, developmental opportunities. I have a great boss and people around me are very friendly.

    Cons

I work downtown so the commuting isn't fun. But that's a part of being in downtown core.

    Advice to Management

No advice really. I am very happy with my job and the work I do. There are challenges with each job, so I take it with a grain of salt and things are good!
