    Pros

    Benifits for the family, pay chueqe never bounces, some of your co-workers turn into family and will always care for you and have your back

    Cons

    Full of political nonsense, management looks out for management, the union looks out for management, HR looks out for management, full of drama if you don't buy the bosses coffee you are replaceable and expendable, the bosses have there favorites who get anything in the world, otherwise you are paid from the neck down

    Advice to Management

    Retire and let someone who cares take your place and fix things

    Pros

    If your focus is not good quality work but how to play well in a highly political environment, you may have a good fortune.

    Cons

    Very Unprofessional
    People are placed in roles that don't fit there skill set. Plus they will politicize the environment around you if you try to suggest anything good, eventually it will hurt you because you are new...:)

    Advice to Management

    When u hire people make your expectations clear and then give the person time to do prove. Please if you really look and work for the City then take out the Rotten Eggs who are a disgrace to the positions they are placed in.

    No life work balance odd hours hard on family

    Cons

    low pay and no overtime benefits

    change the leadership and put qualified people place instead of placing your own men in management.

    Cons

    Lazy coworkers that always complain they are too stress and busy but there is 2-3 people doing the same job..

    A good test score doesn't mean the candidate will be a good worker.

    Pros

    Co-workers are interesting and great to work with, while it lasts.

    Cons

    Dead end job for part time employees. Must have acceptance from an insider to get a full time job within the City.

    Pros

    wage was better than most places

    Cons

    It seniority based so can take years to move up. The union protects the bad and get not get rid of them.. If you get hurt they dump you quickly or make it hard to stay..lots of problem because supervisor are not qualified

    Pros

    - Supportive colleagues
    - Great Benefits (dental cleaning is 100% covered, Every other Friday/Monday is personal day off.)

    Cons

    I don't know how about the other branches. The branch that I worked was very poorly managed.
    - Poor Management (High School Mentalist)
    - Managers didn't change their micromanagement since 1950s
    - Mismanage tax payers' dollars on unsafe projects
    - Unable and unwilling to accept accountability

    Advice to Management

    The City of Edmonton should introduce fresh and young leaders to replace old-fashioned leaders who haven’t updated their knowledge since 1970s-1980s.Young professionals are suffering from the wrong decisions based on outdated and incorrect knowledge.

    Don't expect to get hired unless you know someone.

    Cons

    Far too much nepotism, favoritism and pandering to pressure groups at all levels. Qualifications for jobs take LAST place in hiring process.

    Advice to Management

    Fire the lot and get good , solid , QUALIFIED people in their place. You will save a LOT of money.
