I have been working at City of Glendale, AZ full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Very good benefits package, An enclosed parking garage, friendly co-workers.

    Cons

COG still lags behind the other municipalities in the pay scale, City Hall is old and not maintained well. Elevators are often broke, public bathrooms out of order, carpeting is stained & worn out. There continues to be a high turnover of employees that will use the COG as a starting point & go to other cities for better pay. Many of the in-house staff training programs and recognition events for employees were...

    Advice to Management

Focus more on the employees and the tax paying residents, and stop blowing money on Sports teams & events that drain the funds.

        Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at City of Glendale, AZ part-time for more than a year

        Pros

Supervisor is good. Willing to work with schedule. Fun job. Get to help Glendale Police out daily. Have the authority to enforce City of Glendale laws within the parks.

        Cons

Horrible treatment of part timers. Haven’t hired full time for the past 10years. 10 part timers and 1 full timer. Only give us pepper spray, no vests, asps, or tasers. Expect us to write city code citations with little to no required safety equipment or training. This is a decision that comes from the top, supervisor wants us to have equipment. Part time is $13.41/hr. While full time is $20/hr. Part time gets no holiday,...

        Advice to Management

Give us more funding, approve better equipment, pay us better for all the extra work you require us to do. Quit trying to weasel cheap labor. This would surely increase moral, and make us want to continue giving the City results.
